Straw man

No one said don't show emotion. Scream, yell, high five team mates, whatever,

Not interested in you moonwalking after a tackle, this isn't American idol.

Well us fans aren't going to change that. Besides, if we were winning and playoff bound no one would notice it.

Defending one's argument with that silly, he hasn't won a SB ring, when every ish Cam does gets ridiculed from the day he entered the draft is laughable.

I'm not defending anything just pointing out that the original poster is using 4 superbowl winners and possibly 4 hall of famers in an analogy of Cam Newton. It's not a good analogy

The Eli brothers are two of the best QBs of all time and are the most humble as well. Peyton dissed a kicker one time doesn't exactly point to his evil personality.

Cam's only fault is he is celebrating when there isn't anything to celebrate while other QBs are quietly leading their team to wins. This pisses other players off and the media loves it.

I don't have a problem with it but nobody should expect an overconfident kid who isn't winning games while showing a lack of leadership NOT to be ridiculed.

I'm not. I'm slighting him for being known for celebrations on a 3-9 team. Actually others are I like the energy.

I hope it changes real damn quick though. The record I mean.

Football. 0 fun sir !!

Why can't the guy have like 7% fun while he's out there? 1st down point = 7% fun

Really not a high % and really not a big deal

Now the super man up up and away shirt rip pose = 87% fun !!!! Awesome

I must be older than u. The most obnoxious of all football dances was done by the Bears back in the day.

Believe you/me, I get the annoyance but it's all part of the game. The rolling of the dies one kills me.

No one seems to complain when some of those same folks who were the wrost showboaters back in the day, now make a living still showboating on ESPN and NFLN, while criticizing these younger players.

Today's players r tame in comparison.

Amen.

I was reading through some of the comments on that article about Cam and the Probowl. People were talking poo about how Cam was doing the Superman while we were losing to the Giants on Thursday Night football. Some Giants fan chimed in saying that he was at that game. And that two kids were screaming at Cam to do the Superman. He did it, ran up to them with the football, and apologized for not playing better. This was a Giants fan saying this. Not everything is how it seems.

I get it. We fans in Carolina know he takes these losses really really hard. The rest of the country doesn't really see that.

Or fake/hokey Superman moves. Or taking a knee for Christ.

I can put up with the "slam dunk" over the goal post, or jumpng into the stands.

Wasn't it Chad Ochocinco that hid a cell phone in the padding of the goal post and them "tweeted" about it after he scored? What's that have to do about football?

It was Joe Horn that hid the cell phone in the goal post padding and called his kids after scoring a TD. Chad Johnson-Ochocinco-Johnson was notorious for tweeting on the sideline. He also donned a yellow jacket that said "HOF Class of 20??".
