I'd say he's facing a transition in the next year or so. Either he'll become the kind of QB he needs to be like Favre did or he'll be a perennial tease like Jeff George was.

Here's hoping the staff, whomever they may be, handle this correctly.

I agree ....the whole team needs to get on the same page.A good coaching staff should correct this.....with that said if JR lets Rivera stay another year at status Quo we are in big trouble

I play both sides of the debate because well, there are two sides to the Cam coin.

Is Cam a future franchise QB with potential to lead a team to to a Superbowl? Yep

Can Cam throw a great long ball for the big gainer? Yep

Is Cam one of the only bright spots on the offense if not the only one? Yep

Does Cam have a ways to go in terms of intangibles and leadership? Yep

Can Cam improve his footwork and his accuracy on shorter routes and screens? Yep

Cam is a good sometimes great player. Most players would be lucky just to reach the level that he has already achieved. Some of you are satisfied with that. I'm not. I think we haven't yet seen what he can really do.

Much of this is on the coaching staff, who appear to have completely failed him this year. Hopefully he spends the summer with Weinke again.

A to the F'ing men.. I ve been saying this all season long. His footwork was much better last season. IF the QB coach was worth a damn, he would see it on game tape and start makig corrections. But since Im not a fly on the wall, theres no way to say this is not happening and its just a growth issue for CAM. poo bring in Chris as the new QB coach.

Although I though Lafell has been a small bright spot this past season..... Hes made some great catches in traffic. Just sad he dropped a possible TD pass lat weekend.

Also, why should anyone be surprised by these folks in the sports world or their wannabes have to say about Cam? Many of them have acted as if Cam is suppose to cowdown to them. Yet he's the one with the attitude problem.

When those same folks who seem to enjoy ripping Cam for everything with this team start taking the Panthers as a team to tas,. then I take what they have to say about him more seriously. Right now their constant singling out of Cam all the time comes across like a jilted girl with vengence on her mind.

The ones about his actual play. Poor progression reading, bad footwork, overthrows, slow or bad reads on the option. Granted, a lot of these come from the piss poor playcalling, and he's improved a lot in recent weeks, but there was a stretch (like the Seattle game) where all of these were spot-on criticism of his play.

Everything else, especially the unsourced or months-old allegations of snobbishness, is simply piling on and irrelevant.
