with the way the Lakers shot FTs so poorly and the Magic setting a NBA Finals record for FG%, and STILL only won by 4!?!?!?

i doubt the Magic can keep that kind of shooting % and i doubt the Lakers will slump from the FT like that again.. but still- C'mon Magic!!!

Keep in mind that Orlando is an inch or two (Lee's missed layup) from being up 2-1 in this series. Although I think the Lakers will win it, I don't think it is nearly as lopsided as some people would like to believe.

Hope you guys realize that the Lakers haven't lost twice in a row IN THE ENTIRE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR. And considering the way the Lakers as a whole performed shooting, Phil Jackson's going to get these guys back on the right track for thursday. And then a pissed off Laker team isn't going to be good for any kind of opponent.

Magic's shooting was ridiculously excellent, which, I am skeptical they can keep up, and it STILL took Kobe missing 5 free throws for them to win.

It's funny as bad as we played and as good as they played, we lost the game on the free throw line. (nobody else's shooting there wasn't much better than Kobe's)

In the regular season, the Cavs were better. So the point is, there are no absolutes in sports, no matter what excellent stats that you have.

ok, up until the East finals, Cleveland swept two teams. They did not know how to react to a loss (similar to last year when the Lakers pretty much coasted to the finals and then started losing to the Celtics and got stuck in a hole). They beat up on the Pistons and the Hawks, they didn't have to face Utah or Houston, two better teams.

yes the cavs had the best record in the NBA and around the same record the Lakers had but face facts that East conference had 3 teams .500 or below make the playoffs, and the West's lowest seed had more wins than the East's 4th seed. Cleveland was not really as good as Los Angeles.

Yea orlando won last night but it took ridiculously good shooting and a bad free throw game by the Lakers to put them over the top. Can you honestly rely on both of those factors to come together again?

Orlando and the Lakers pwned the Cavs during the regular season as well.

The conferences even out when you consider that the East only had one team that had less than 32 wins (the Wizards), and the West had six (Golden State, Memphis, Minnesota, Oklahoma City, Clippers, Sacramento). The top of the West fattended their records up against the bottom of the West. The conference argument was supposed to be why LA was better than Boston last year.

I've heard this argument ad nauseum from the talking heads, but that fails to account for the Magic being a missed layup from wininng game 2 in LA. The Lakers also shot 51% in Game 3 which even includes the last 5 or 6 shots that they were trying to get off in desperation which all missed. So it's not exactly like they played a bad game in Game 3. I'm sorry, but the Lakers are not an unstoppable juggernaut like you're making them out to be just because they dominated Game One in which Orlando couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. What will really determine the outcome of the series is the men with the whistles.

Orlando also owned the Lakers during the regular season.

Ok, I apologize in advance to any fellow Laker fans on here if I jinxed us by posting a picture of a broom after game 2. I still think the Lakers are the superior team, and that seems obvious to me. I do think though that Kobe's body is getting tired after such a long run of playing basketball. I'm not making excuses, he just looks tired to me. Hopefully he can find the energy and the Lakers win tonight, or I will really be worried.

win or lose...I'm just curious if you haters have seen enough yet to totally agree that officiating sucks ass...both for and against the Lakers? If not...then you truly are a hater!

That's the worst part about the NBA. Occasionally you have an abomination in football like what happened to the Chargers in Denver. Hockili should have been terminated immediately.

But in the NBA one side inevitably is livid.

    • I saw that too--and what you said made sense because there is something like that in the rules--said that he is unlikely to get picked up (and I was not suggesting that we do) and Jones wants to go to a winning team.   After getting beaten to death in NY behind a sub par OL, poor WRs, and brutal fan base, I get it.
    • True.  Sam and Baker did not do well here but went on to better things under better coaching, circumstances or both.  The real question is, ‘why aren’t the Panthers able to get improved performance out of ‘broken toys’, similar to Minnesota and Tampa? That is a rhetorical question.  I think we know the answer.   [The cultural reference to Pogo dates me, I’ll admit.]
    • Did I mention that he was on worse teams?  Yes.  Do QBs alone win games?  No.  Did Cam, on a much better team with some awesome defenses ever have 2 consecutive winning seasons?  No.  So now you are cherry picking,  If the overall stats are similar, you take a look at him.   I told you that you look at his skill set---but you wanted to tell me that he sucks and mentioned performance.  I just presented performance--and his numbers are very similar to Cam Newton's numbers--a player most call the best Panther QB ever--and I agree.  By the way, Fumbles are evidence of how bad his OL has been--so you are saying that a QB in a situation worse than Cam's who has stats and physical abilities very similar to Cam's should not be given a look when you have Bryce Young at QB?  You are going with that story because you simply talked your way into a corner and now you are trying to save face.  No good GM would do what you suggest because "he sucks."  Sorry, but the facts do not support you.  But no matter what eye-opening details I provide, there are some who are going to go their Google machines to try to find some reason to support an ignorant approach to developing the QB position.  You ignored the similarities to Cam and went cherry picking.  I know what you are doing--but I am only suggesting (as I have stated before) that we bring him in as one of three approaches to resolving the QB issue. Compete with Bryce and draft a QB. Basically, I am suggesting that Jones has the potential to replace Dalton and compete with Young.  He is a battered stock that could get better in a better situation--that is human nature.  Instead, I am called a Daniel Jones lover and superfan.  That is good debate--But a real sign of mature thinking is the inability to LOGICALLY consider alternative perspectives--which is actually a characteristic of intelligence.  Just so you know, I critique and perform research in my job.  I am often amazed at how the numbers do not support my suppositions.  I learned that my impression is often wrong until I look at the data.  In this case, I have considered all the important variables and he should get a shot.  Numbers don't lie--and when you and others resort to twisted name calling directed toward the poster--it verifies my position.
