Gross

Lumps

Recommended Posts

I'm leaning towards first trying to restructure him, if he does not comply, then cut his ass. He's regressed and has not been the same. May be age, may be he doesn't have anything left, who knows. But he's not the same and isn't helping this line at all other than leadership. But Kalil is there for that and he's younger and is a top flight center. Gross has become expendable.

he is making a boatload of money these next two years. Cutting him wont save as much next year as it will the year after. He is definitely another player not living up to his salary, but does have a rookie LG beside him that is still has a lot to learn.

Yeah because its the rookies fault Gross is getting beat on outside speed rushes

For those that say cut him, who you got in mind to replace him?

Bruce Campbell LOL, he can't even get activated on gamedays. Come on..

Yeah because are coaches have an eye for talent (Fua and Nakamara)

Oh and Gettis is so much worse then Adams or Edwards

Do any of you guys complaining about Gross actually watch the games?

The reason that I'm asking is because I watch all of the games on rewind afterwards to try and get a better idea of where the team could improve. Gross got beat twice against the Chiefs. Twice. Not once. Not thrice. Just twice. The first time Hali got by him was when Cam hit an open LaFell in the 3rd quarter for what should've been a TD had Jojo not dropped it. The second time? 4min left in the game. Cam avoided the sack (and Gross got away with an AWFUL hold) and got a 7yd scamper out of it.

Cam had more passes thrown high over his receivers head than Gross gave up pressures. So what exactly has Gross done to be looked at as a detriment to the team? Or are people hyperventilating because they don't understand how NFL contracts work?

Success on the Ground

With Jonathan Stewart out, DeAngelo Williams received his biggest workload since Week 2 with 12 carries and his second-highest snap count on the season. While he’s still not close to deserving of the contract the Panthers gave him, he made the most of his carries against the Chiefs, averaging 5.6 yards per carry and picking up four first downs. Williams wasn’t the only player who had success for the Panthers, though, as fellow back Mike Tolbert gained an average of 7.5 yards on the ground, albeit in just two attempts. The real star for the Panthers in the running game was quarterback Cam Newton (+3.0 rush). He gained 78 yards on seven attempts — good for a team-high 11.1 YPC — and was particularly adept running the read-option. More decisive than we’ve seen at times this season, Newton did a nice job forcing defensive hesitation and making explosive cuts up field. Credit the offensive line for doing its part as well, particularly LT Jordan Gross, who was excellent at the point of attack.
