Isn't not talking to your team the opposite of micromanagement?

You may be right, Basically it is a manager assigning people under him tasks...Then the manager just observes all the parts of the job. Puts the responsibility on his employees rather than doing the job himself. My boss claims that is what is going on here, and it is horrible..So maybe I just have a bad taste in my mouth with that term.

Just fyi, your manager has it backwards. A boss that wants to do or review everything that goes on rather than letting his troops handle their specific areas is a micromanager. So Ron is anything but a micromanager.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a great time.

Lol, kind of what I figured.I just always thought of it as "So micro you dont even know you have a manager".

I was in my white Sam Mills jersey and my brother his black Smitty jersey. The crowd was good, with nothing but a few minor Good-natured comments until we were literally at our car to leave, parked in the boondocks. Some guy yelled "How does it feel to know your team sucks?" from across the parking lot, so I yelled back "Almost as bad as it feels to be a Chiefs fan." Other than that, perfect day for an entertaining game.

This was actually my first Panther game, you'd think they Chiefs was a sure win this season but oh well. The game was actually really good and sadly a very winnable game. If Lafell makes that grab or our defensive has some discipline then the game would have been easily ours. I would have to agree with all the points of the original poster but I'll add a few as well.

Turned out pretty long so I apologize but I can assure you it's better then a lot of the threads/posts I've read lately.

1. This isn't about the team but honestly if you've never been to a game you HAVE to make time and find a way. It was awesome to just walk in and see them out there. This was a friend and my own first game, sadly surrounded by drunk KC fans yelling at the top of their lungs for no reason. But we both plan to save and make it to Bank of American Stadium sometime.

2. Speaking of KC fans, I have never been to a Panther's home game but just from what I see on TV and after attending this game our fan base really needs a kick in the ass. Being in that stadium you would have sworn the Chiefs were making a run for the playoffs with the support they gave them. It clearly effected the drives that mattered late in the game. It's something that is talked about on TV but is just something you have to see to believe.

3. I really hope both Steve Smith and D. Will remain on the team. Doubt anyone is going to argue on Smith for reasons I don't have to say, it was just nice to see him try and help out the younger players when they needed it. D. Will I know has been talked about a lot on here and some attribute his gameplay to lack of effort or skill. After seeing him play I don't think he has a lost a step, just faith in the team and the direction it's headed. The read option, poo play calls, and terrible O-Line are clearly holding him back and I really hope he restructures and finds a way to help us win next year.

4. Coaching in general is awful. It's not new but to just watch Rivera and actually see how it re acts to things in person and responds to situations, he needs gone. This team clearly is no longer his. Like the OP said it seemed like Rivera was never in on any of the team talks or groups or nothing. I even once saw him standing about 5-10 feet away from a few coaches talking to Cam but still standing out on the field. It was like he wanted to hear the conversation but not be in it, really hard to explain.

5. Our defense was so friggin soft it was hard to watch. Barely any real pressure was brought and the gaps were huge for the running game. We can make any RB look like a start and I think it has just as much to do with play calling as it does talent at the line. I was in section 103 about row 20 and being able to see the D that close it's no wonder teams pick us apart. My extent of football knowledge is watching and playing flag football but it was clear as day the gaps in our D. I'd love to see a game with very little zone as it's clear that playing soft is not something we do well.

Quick random thoughts:

- Keuchly is a beast and I'd love to see Beason move to OLB and have Beason/Kuchly/Davis.

- Cam played a great game, I fault him almost none for this lose.

- Still pissed to not see Gettis out there. Fear the new GM/HC will toss him aside next year.

- Playing to our opponents level is still something this team suffers from the Fox era

- Jones needs to be taken off PR until he can find holes. The end around he ran had a huge gap on the inside of our WR block for an easy 10+ but he kept running to the outside.

- Our Punter looked decent pregame but very inconsistent

- Trade down, if possible, and draft O Line/D Line depending on available free agency players

- I 100% believe that Cam can lead us to a Super Bowl with a few coaching changes that are sure to come and added depth to our lines.

I was at the Chiefs game as well. As far as crowd noise.. that was NOTHING. The stadium had 50% occupancy.. I have been to a few Chiefs games over the last few years, and when that stadium is at full occupancy, you can't hear the person standing next to you. The stadium was not loud at all during the Panthers game.. you really haven't seen anything yet.
