Petition to bring back Neg Rep

SZ James (banned)

Recommended Posts

Nope.

Sounds to me like a bunch of folks here would, if they could, create their own internet forum world and be able to decide who comes and goes based upon their opinions and thoughts, regardless if they broke any rules.

"We just don't like your kind around here and don't like what you have to say."

Welcome to internet Utopia.

my thoughts are that we've got the falcons coming to charlotte this week.

we just lost to the chiefs. the falcons are on top, we are now on the bottom.

trolls are going to be coming by the millions for the next week and a half (given that we lose on sunday).

let it be a temporary neg rep to smack lasting only the next week or two and then let everything go back to the way it was.

consider it a way to make it easier on the mods during the troll tsunami that's getting ready to head this way.

Count me in . I believe that Neg Rep was disabled because some of the "more established" posters found out that they weren't as cool as they thought.

Incorrect

It was disabled when a lunatic that was banned recruited a bunch of people to sign up and neg rep established posters to smack.

What would be cool would be if there were an option to vote to delete a particular post/thread.

For instance, say Joe Dongsmoker creates a thread in the same vein that is being discussed elsewhere. Or otherwise Joe Dongsmoker makes a post that the general community feels is nothing more than trolling.

In those cases, users could "vote" to have the thread/post removed by clicking a button much like the "pie" or negrep option. Those who have the option to vote like above would be determined not by post count, but by time on the huddle (as in, signup date) and if a predetermined number of what we might call "veteran" users voted to have the post/thread removed, it would be trashed

I think this would do more to clean up the site rather than simply neg-repping folks...that does nothing other than let others know they tend to post crap, but otherwise allows them to continue to post crap and let their crap remain visible and public, clutter the board with repetitive threads, and continue the cycle of trash such posters take such joy in.

Dunno, ask jtgreensboro I think it was his rep

jtgreensboro was never actually banned to smack he was just being a giant crybaby vagina over his rep count

absurd how that one idiot's complaining ruined it for everyone else

ahhhh....i remember now.

still i think it would be a good idea, even if it's just temporary. consider it a trial run.
