Fans in Philadelphia have been yelling for years that Andy Reid does not run the ball enough. This year, with one of the best running backs in the NFL, that yelling has become even louder. Now, it’s not just the fans who are calling for LeSean McCoy to get more carries.

“I think Andy Reid doesn’t know how to use LeSean McCoy,” former Chargers Pro Bowl running back LaDanian Tomlinson said on the NFL Network on Sunday. “Doesn’t know how to use him as much as he should. Clearly, you look at the numbers it tells you they should be running the football more, but they’re not. That tells me the coach, the play caller, does not know how to use this guy.”

If you get a damn good Defensive coordinator with Andy Reid then he would be a good coach for the Panthers. I don't think Jerry pursue though.

Not so sure about that. Really seems as though JR is going a different direction and might make a big splash, the firing of Hurney mid season, the hiring of Accorsi. Thats not typical JR

True. The hiring of Ernie Accorsi will do wonders for our team. We just got to get the right coach in here to fix things up. We will see soon enough what JR will do.

First the obvious reason, Andy Reid would do wonders with Cam and there is no doubt Reid deep down has a man crush on Newton. And another reason that never gets mentioned is im sure Reid would not only welcome a change of venue but also a laid back city like Charlotte might be just the break he needs. Not sure he would want another harsh enviroment like a Dallas or the Jets.

The bottom line is we need Reid and Reid needs us. Thoughts?

Absolutely not. For three (3) reasons:

First, Andy Reid looks like a man who is burned out and needs at least a year away from the game. After the tragedy he experienced with his son's death, I'm not sure it was a good idea for him to have coached this year and some time away from the sidelines and pressures of an NFL HC may do him some good e.g. Jeff Fisher.

Second, Reid is a WCO disciple and just from schematic/philosophy standpoint, that style of offense would not mesh with the current players we have on the roster. Most significantly, Cam Newtown is not a WC QB and his skillset is better suited for the Air Coryell offense we run now. To implemet this system would present an almost complete overhaul of the offense player/scheme, and would present a huge learning curve for a 2nd year QB who just now appears to be finding his groove. Reid's WCO is very pass heavy, which would mean further under utilizing the expensive stable of RBs we have.

Third, although Reid is known for successfully working with QBs (after all he was a QB coach/OC under Mike Holmgren), Reid's time in Philly has been marred by the some of the same inconsistencies, game management issues, lack of good drafting etc that we complain about with our current regime. True, he's more experience than Rivera, but that doesn't make him a better rreplacement.

Do you guys realize that Reid has only been to 1 superbowl as a head coach and he has had some talented teams to coach.

He is not the answer for this team.

I like the guy and would not complain about the hire. However I do believe mr Reid should take some time to get his affairs in order and take a breath before jumping right back into things.

do people not even question if reid's offense would fit here? if cam would fit it and if it would be best for cam? do people realize the amount of time it takes for ANY player to learn the WCO, esp. QBs?

ahhhh....he's a coach thats won a lot of games and i've heard of him. he had his job for a long time. he'll do. meh.....

a big FAT NO from me. nothing against the guy. he's just beat up from being in philly and esp. from life and family issues. he's damaged goods at this point. and i don't want that WCO around here. find something that actually fits the players we have. find a system that doesn't take 10 seconds to just call the play and has overly lengthy and unnecessarily long verbiage. and it's really not any better than any other offense out there...college or pro. let's find someone that brings an offense that's simple to learn, simple to run, and fast. let's find something that isn't going to be drastically different than any of our players have been used to. and lets maybe, just maybe isn't a system that's on it's way out the door in the NFL because no one wants to bother with it.

and again, i like the guy and i hate what he's been having to deal with on a personal level, but he's turning into a relic.

They attempt to put a drive together and they're going to at least have a shot at a field goal.

Rivera in this situation kneels out and is happy to be up 4 points. He doesn't see how loser that is.... Even with 3 timeouts, he doesn't try anything. God Reid is just so much better for that reason alone.
