I realized today that we are at least two good drafts from being decent. This team is in sad shape.

I was hoping Ron Edwards could ward off DT for one more year, but nope, gotta use a first just to make our D adequate. Not good, but just not the laughing stock you saw today.

I suppose OL in the second. Luxury picks for weapons that will actually make us "good" are going to have to wait.

Very possible we end up with the #2 pick overall which the Rams got 3 #1s and a 2nd for from the Skins for the chance at RGIII.

I'd be happy trading out for half that and a competent GM/HC combo making the extra #1 count.

Agreed, this is a very poor draft to have a top 5 pick in...unlike last year.

Manti Teo is projected to go in the top 3 and Barkley should be the highest picked QB and he is like Blaine Gabbert....

DT is the QB of defense in that, if you're in a position to draft an elite prospect at the position, you generally don't pass unless you flat-out have that position covered. It's just too hard to find top notch players at the position.

Star should be the pick. Not even really a question at this point, IMO, unless we get a killer trade-down offer.

In the worst draft since 2000.. what a prize

In my opinion, this is a very good draft for our needs. Top need DT? GREAT DT prospects in this draft. Big needs at RG, WR, FS? Very good prospects at G and some good potential guys (though no "can't miss" prospects) at WR and FS. That looks like our draft order to me. DT in the 1st, OG or WR in the 2nd (or OT if there's a good prospect) and FS in FA and/or the 4th/trade-up into the 3rd.

LT isn't an immediate need, but will be before too long. I think Gross is playing so poorly because the the whole O-line is out of synch. Get Kalil back in there and the whole O-line will be playing better, including Gross.
