Chiefs player kills girlfriend at home, then himself at facility (updated first post)

Confirmed that he shot himself in front of Head Coach Romeo Crennel and GM Scott Pioli. Reports say "others" were present, but no specifics as to who they were.

As far as his father, I don't see how he can be expected to do his job, regardless of whether he was there or not.

see not only did he cause pain for his girlfriend's family, he traumatized others. What a piece of garbage. Just off yourself alone somewhere.

The NFL plays football for big bucks. A lot of people make and lose a lot of money playing this game according to the byzantine rules.

Who are you to decide that someone else should forego the opportunity to profit or enjoy himself because you feel sorry for Belcher?

"mu-muh-my right to make a profit. fug you statist scum"

Go to bed Ayn Rand. This is bigger then profits and money.

If the Chiefs want to cancel this game, I have no problem with getting a tie and waiting a week to watch the panthers lose again. In fact I encourage it.

And no ones feeling sorry for Belcher

I'm sure pushing the game back three hours would be just enough time for Romeo Crennel to move on from this portion of his life.

Some of you want to do something just for the sake of doing something.

If it's what Crennel and the Chiefs want.

That's where the decision should be made.

Play the game. This guy shot and killed someone, not the other way around. It sucks, but this is life and life doesn't stop...ever. Playing tomorrow will provide an escape for the players, coaches and fans in Kansas City. Not playing will only further escalate emotions.

...and I would say the same thing even if the Panthers weren't involved in the game.

I think the proper thing is to let Crennel and Pioli take more than a week off. There are other coaches and personnel to step in.

Depending on the person, those affected by tragedies usually require therapy, counseling, a talk with their chaplain, anything to allow them to realize that the tragedy didn't happen because of them.

Be careful, some people might find you sickening.
