How Rivera dealt with Jeff Otah...

Was thinking about this a few days ago.

We were all quick to judge Otah for being lazy and not pulling his weight, using injurys as an a excuse. We cheered Rivera on as he called him out in interviews during training camp. Then ultimately shipped him out for peanuts. And when Otah failed his physical- he was sent back and we ended up cutting him. At the time, no one questioned Rivera/Hurney.

Now, in hindsight, did Rivera botch the Otah situation. He was essentially a Probowl RT when healthy but now is only a wasted 1st round pick.

If he "botched" it he would be signed and balling for a team right now. Guess what? He isn't. It's over with and the line would've blowed ass with or without him.

rivera no more mismanaged otah than fox did.

when was the last time he was useful? it's not like there were hints about him being lazy or not wanting it or not long before rivera got here and rivera's wasn't the first doghouse he was in.

otah was a huge disappointment to everyone who counted on him living up anywhere close to his expectations or draft spot. he was given plenty of opportunities to get it together and never did. seeing how he couldn't even pass the physical in new york and how little effort or interest there was from other teams after he came back home here and got cut should tell you all you need to know about him.

it's not rivera's fault. it's not fox's fault. crap...it's not even hurney's fault. it's on otah for not working out.

Therefore, should Charlotte lose to Dallas by literally any margin, they will claim the four-game margin."
