Do we need the same positions now, as we needed then?

Perhaps it's a little too early to ask the question, but doesn't it appear like we need to draft at least one DT, CB, FS, and, most especially, a WR? in the 2013 draft? Even though we can look at the offensive play calling (double entendre intended), isn't it easy to recognize that we need a more dynamic WR to take pressure off Smitty, if not be his replacement? Don't we need a young DT to shore-up the DL and be more consistent in the running game? Don't we need a young lock-down corner and FS to solidify a defensive backfield that has had arguably measurable and marginal success? What has really changed from last year this time except for a downgrade in offense that some will blame for dwindling talent, suspect coaching, or both? Other than the rise of the Kraken, a solid FA pick-up in Landry, the return of TD, and a slam dunk first round draft of Luke, has our ability to stop the run or pass improved significantly? What do you think?

carolina needs true downfield threats at the wr position to take advantage of newton's arm.

as much as people love smith, he's no longer that threat and no one else on the roster fits the bill.

In the slot position with one or two other big threats at wideout. That's where he wants to be anyway.

it is a love hate scheme isn't it.

I've heard a few of ex- players/coaches on tv/radio say they believe it is the best system

for Cam's skill set. We just need a better Oline to run it.

I kinda wonder whether people who hope we get Andy Reid have really considered how Newton's skill set would fit in a West Coast offense.

My gut feeling is that they haven't.

I fear logging on here and seeing people discussing how many years it takes to really master the WCO.

other than having no faith in him to put together a good staff, the WCO thing is the biggest deterrent. major red flag.

that said, he did have the offense switched to a much more simple spread to accomadate vick so it shows he's at least willing to change.
