OK, the link stating we have $130 towards the cap is more recent, I'm guessing that one is taking into account some of the recent extensions and restructures. With $130 toward next years cap that means we'll be $5.1 million over, although for some reason Pat Y never gives exact figures ("just about $130 million" ??) so that's just a ballpark figure.

Gross... most overpaid and overvalued commodity on this team. It would be hard to argue that D-Will isnt given his role this year, but he still can ball, Gross is just getting abused.

you can click on each player individually to see their cap figures. For some crazy reason they make you pay to see the contracts of those on I.R

They list the signing bonuses and the prorated amount that count against the cap each year.

Gross is a player who can really save us come cap room by restructuring. I think we'd be crazy to out right cut him at this point as we have no one near his ability on the roster to play left Tackle and I still think he's above average at the position.

Anyway he only has 1 million of signing bonus expected to hit the cap next year and has an overall figure of 11.7 million(total cap hit). Should be a an easy restructure that can get us much needed relief on the cap.

Things will get very interesting here in a couple of months.

All or nearly all the contract info is available to anyone online. It just takes patience to pick through it and a little research to figure out the impact on the cap should you cut or trade the player.

I'm glad this thread was started. I was thinking of starting one myself titled "cleaning House".

We need to get one of the posters here who has access to the dollar figures for all Panthers contracts..(players/coaches)

since we have people on here screaming ...fire him or cut him or he has to restructure his contract, yada,yada, yada.....

Lets see what our new GM really has to work with. Lets see what the cap hit is for players to be released or what will it

cost to restructure contracts.........then lets see what will it cost to jettison the entire coaching staff.

I'm not quite sure if some of the people screaming so loudly know what replacement cost is.........but they need to.

Marty dug us a hole that it's going to take some time to get out of and there's an old saying that applies here......
