Our defense isn't the problem. I like McDermott & he has done an excellent job considering the lack of talent our defense has. They've really played well.

If Rivera would've grabbed Chud by the neck & told him to cut the gimmick BS out after week 2 or 3 we'd be a lock for the playoffs.

McDermott has been bailed out this year by the fact that the defensive line is finally playing up to there potential. Everything else has been suspect. Really you can credit Hurney more for the success in picking up Edwards and Alexander.

The ONLY problem I have is this. Monte's defense requires 2 pretty good safeties. We don't even have 1 (well, 1 that can play both the run and the pass effectively). Unless we're going to upgrade BIG time at safety, his defense most likely wouldn't work, unless we continue to sodomize opposing QBs with our front 4.
