what I kept hearing from RR concerning martin was-

he wasn't hitting his landmarks (out of position) and he was taking bad angles.

to the folks that want him in the game more........

until that changes in practice, he won't get much PT baby.

Really? so then why was he the starting FS last night?

Martin has all the physical skills to be a top tier safety. I don't see a problem with his speed or quickness. However he consistently takes bad angles. Consistently. He was better last night than usual. However we were also playing against Nick Foyles. Every time we play the Saints, Drew Brees looks like he has a hand in the small of his back. I have no idea if it's play recognition or scheme but it happens all the time. Nakumura knows what going on he just isn't physically able to do anything about it. Maybe Martin has gotten better, but not only that touchdown run, but a few others makes me think the only reason Martin looks better is because his play time has been reduced.

The long TD-run was on Martin, two dropped int to boot and you have not played a great game. Just to big of a hole.

He is however awesome at run support tackles every time he aims at the right place and showed it and he is a solid cover guy as long as he remember his assignment (which you sadly have to expect him to doesn't at least once a game).

In my opinion he is not a starter but a decent 3rd safety to have.

Not that Naka is any better, like someone stated the instincts are there but he is just not quick enough. The PI call was not 100% but at least 90, to bad he didn't play the ball with both hand he was in good position to catch it and even if he misses there is not penalty (defensive instinct to blame I guess).
