Less is more is a bunch of bull....

Part of Cam's issues have been the Offensive scheme not allowing him to play instinctive football.

Less is More clears his head and allows him to play off his instincts.

chud's been trying to make a name for himself this year. he wants the success of the offense to be because of his genius rather than cam's natural talent. at least that's the way it appears.

cam just hasn't been allowed to be cam. he's been trapped into what chud wants to do. last year cam was allowed more freedom. this year they put him into a box...a really flimsy one at that...and forced him to think more about the system rather than just play and that's rarely ever a good thing for any player.

it's crucial for cam's and the team's success going forward for the system to be one that trusts newton to do what he does best and make things happen. by trying not to put too much on cam's shoulders they've actually made it harder for him.

i know people get tired of hearing chip kelly's name brought up, but i'm reminded so many times of reasons why i think he would be successful with newton...but it's not really even kelly himself, it's the mindset and coaching philosophy i like. kelly's offense depends much of the time on the QB being able to make audibles and decisions at the line based on what the defense is showing him. the speed of kelly's offense and what cam had with mahlzahn at auburn would really help make cam successful because it's a constant beat down of the opposing team's defense and it would allow newton to thrive much in the same way he did at auburn and like he did for most of last year.

i remember when mccoy was fired and they brought in that QB coach from cleveland (still don't understand the fascination with cleveland this team had) who started working with jake's mechanics and footwork, which were things that jake wasn't really good with. what happened, though, was that jake all of a sudden was thinking about what he was doing instead of just doing his job. his brain got cluttered with "helpful" suggestions and coaching and he just couldn't do the job. of course that was only part of jake's problems...the others being just being old, essentially a new elbow to work with, and an offense that was incredibly predictable and unable to adapt.

sometimes when you try to help someone with natural talents (which cam and jake both had in droves) and you try to make them into a technician, you take them out of their elements and may make they less effective, even if their form is a little better. i don't want cam to become some drew brees or tom brady or peyton manning surgeon with the football. i just want him to be cam and be the legit threat he can be. that doesn't mean you don't try to help him improve his craft, but don't put too much on his plate and don't take him out of his element or away from his style of play. work with it and around it. build around it and let him do what he did for years before coming here...win.

Think what our offense would be if we did not have a qb that can run?We have some work to do on the OL

silatolu will be better next year. i'm not worried about him. he'll be a stud. bell should be reliable enough going forward as well. gross needs a replacement groomed. kalil is a stud and will be back. RG is the biggest issue and i fully believe that it needs to be addressed with vet talent. we need someone that can step in right away and make an impact and we just aren't very likely at all to find that in the draft.

the biggest thing this OL is lacking (aside from being healthy) is chemistry and experience, esp. experience together. they also need better coaching, to be quite honest. and a scheme that doesn't depend on them holding off defenders for 4-5 seconds.

Couldn't have said it better myself... Cam is at his best when he's playing instinctive, make-it-up-as-u-go football. This system we have has completely stifled that.

The problem with Chud and Rivera for that matter is that they limit there options. No full back so that takes a whole set away from them, limiting the QB, running long developing plays with a bad Oline, no using the run game effectively, using soft zones on defense for too long, and bad time management has made this team very limited in situations and resulted in losses.

No one in the coaching staff or in this fanbase has the patience to establish the run. It might take a few 3rd and long conversions or 3 and outs to get it started, but once it starts working it opens up everything. The play action works if all your runs aren't out of the shotgun.

DeAngelo is going to kill it when he goes to a team with a real offense.

I was happy seeing a Panther win, but we are fooling ourselves if we think that play calling would have worked against a decent D.
