Love what I just heard on ESPN about Cam

Obviously, they simplified what they give Cam. The part I loved? They said, basically, "less is more, it's a good decision, and taking stuff off his plate is not an indictment. It's about growth and progression and getting the reps with the stuff he can definitely run so that he's not thinking about those plays anymore and he can just execute them".

Keep the playcalling within what Cam has done well, introduce things gradually to him for another year or two, and just let him ball out with that. The more complex progressions will come to him, but he needs to get there in his own time. They also said, "a cluttered mind equals a slow body", which I thought was spot on.

Absolutely. Playing baseball trying to hit 95 mph was impossible when I had all sorts of crap flying around in my head...

I can't imagine all of the poo storms that go through an NFL QBs dome....exhausting to even imagine

Did they say anything about the team as a whole? I wish they would scrutinize the Panther as a team instead of it always being about Cam. They make it sound like the Panthers as a team have no other problems but Cam.

Well, the big pull for this whole game was that Cam is playing in it, really. So, they didn't mention much else other than Cam's performance. It was a short, 2 minute segment. I'm sure NFL Network might dive deeper into the game and give more props to the team as a whole. ESPN probably won't, because they don't want to talk Panthers news more than they have to. However, there will be a segment or 5 about The Golden Calf of Bristol. Guaranteed.

I understand ESPN doing this...I mean...its ESPN...How many times did they show our Head Coach? Half of them don't even know who he is or even cares...EVERYONE knows Cam Newton...

The disappointing part for me is that our fans and local media have the same way of thinking...Hell even the defensive players were like "Cam finally was able to run out the clock and close out the game..." like WTF?

You think you would ever hear Ray Lewis saying nonsense like that? As if it is up to the offense to win games...

Again. Only in Carolina does the defense and special teams players not get paid...

That shows you the mentality of this team is, everything rests on the shoulders of the QB. Like what do the rest of the team get paid to do, stand around and watch Cam? Oh, yeah, that's exactly what they do.

As I said before, the day this team changes it's mentality is the day more Ws will come their way. Teams that win a lot know better than to rely solely on their QB to do it all. The ones that do, suffer miserably and keep wondering why they can't win more.
