I take this with a grain of salt.....its still early in the OTA/summer school season....let them get to TC and preseson to see if he stills struggles with the offense and throwing mechanisms

Dolphins’ White Warming Up The Wildcat

Posted by Aaron Wilson on May 29, 2009, 12:53 p.m.

While the Miami Dolphins are trying to remain as secretive as possible about their strategy for versatile rookie quarterback Pat White, there are plenty of indications that the Wildcat offense they ran last year is being expanded considerably.

During a practice session this week, White lined up as the only player in the backfield in a so-called “WildPat” look after previous assignments in recent weeks where the former West Virginia star played wide receiver with running back Ronnie Brown running the Wildcat, according to Dave Hyde of the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel.

Last year, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said that the team was “just scratching the surface” of the Wildcat.

White said that the Dolphins’ multi-dimensional offense “expands the spread.”

White added that the Denver Broncos were the only team to work him out strictly at quarterback at an individual workout while the New England Patriots auditioned him at wide receiver and as a kick returner.

The Dolphins, who drafted White in the second round, didn’t have White in for a workout before the NFL Draft to try to keep their plans unknown to other NFL teams.

Remember, Henning really started the wildcat with the Panthers when Jake was injured and our only answer was Weinkie. We ran the wildcat without Weinkie against Atlanta and won the game.

Anyone else remember?

Yes...we put Williams in the backfield.

That said, NFL teams will be much more ready for it this year.

Wildcat was a gimmick that worked last season. Now with alot of film on the Dolphins, expect to see it shut down in the upcoming season.

yet it continued to work late into the season. By that point there was plenty of film. Throw in someone like White that can throw the ball better than Ronnie Brown and you have a dangerous offense.
