We saw the cam of last year tonight

two weeks ago against denver he was very bad.

today he was terrific. Whats your point

The point is, Cam shouldn't be the entire team. You have 10 guys out there with him on offense. When he's having a bad day, it's time for them to step up even more. That is the problem with this team's offense. It's all squarely on Cam's shoulder and it's shows. Even worst is, some of you fans feel that's the way it's suppose to be. No it's not.

Wrong mentality.

Not really. The oline was horrid that game. Peyton Manning would have looked worst. They literally gave up. Outside of that game the oline has been pretty good all things considered.

The Seattle game was the game that Newton flat out sucked.

But again, Newton has to play close to perfect for his team to beat a team without its QB, WR, RB, makeshift Oline to get a one possession win.

Our OL didn't show up in the slightest vs. Denver either. Reference Aaron Rodger's performance last night to see what an elite QB looks like when his OL just plain doesn't show up.

Stop making sense.

It seems the whole everything is on the QB's back, is a normal thinking with many on this site. They don't realize that a QB's job is to simply pass and throw the ball. They seem to be quick to ignore all of the receiver's on the team, mistakes and can only focus on ever mistake Cam makes. It's no wonder he plays like it's him against the other team.

I watched the game closely tonight and two or three times Cam throw a perfect ball that touched the gloves of a receiver only to have him drop it. There is the saying if your gloves touches the ball, it's yours to catch. I guess that saying doesn't apply to the receivers on this team.

I have said, if the fans, the players, and the coaches expected the same from the other starters on the panthers that they do from Cam, we would --at worst-- be 7-4.

MVP Matt Ryan could go out and throw 5 ints and his team still wins...why? because as you said...mentality...

For example, the play that Cam scrambled on...only to have Lafell and another WR just look at him...not working to get open...not try to come back to the ball or even block...they are LITERALLY watching the show...

Wrong mentality.

he was real bad against denver on his own.

And as usual, the rest of the team fell just like him.

What does that say when no one else on this team knows how to step up and help out their QB when he's having a bad day? But, they all want him to help them improve on their individual stats. Again, I ask, what does that say about the mentality of this team and even worst, the fans?

Your defense made me smile tonight. Their perception of the Eagles offense was on point. They spent less time simply standing around waiting for the other team to act and spent more time studying the Eagles' offense. I'm not going to say, they are on the Gaints, or Raven's level of defense because there still are lot of lapsing in their judgement that I saw but if it wasn't for them, the Panthers might have lost this game. So much credit belongs to the defense.

The score should have been much higher considering how many times the Panthers defense were able to strip the Eagles' offense of the ball. But, all I kept seeing was an offense who seem to stand around waiting on Cam instead of knowing their role and playing it. It seems many on here either don't want to face the truth about their offense or they feel it's easy to blame Cam.

Also, I had to shake my head at Smitty. What is with that man? He's not only the elder state man of this team but he's the Captian. What sort of message does he send to the younger players when he doesn't know how to control his temper and always scoffling with the other team? Thank God that scoffle he got into didn't cost the team any yardage. He really needs to stop.

Frankly, I was extremely displeased with the defense tonight. The Eagles were down to one starter on their oline, a rookie Qb and their second string running back, and yet they were not only in the game but were allowed to lead for much of it. The forced fumbles were nice but basically were lucky flukes that should have let us blow the game out instead of being needed just to eek out a win.

Context matters, and in the context of this game our defense was shitty. And I agree that it doesn't all need to be on Cam, win or lose, but that's the unfortunate nature of the NFL. He played great, the defense did just enough, the special teams sucked ass, and we came away with a win against a team that would have been happy to lose by 70. I'm happy with the result, but unless the mindset from the coaches and players change we're just delaying the inevitable and putting even more crap on Cam's plate when we should be helping him out.

The D took a huge step backward tonight. Hopefully, it was just because Reid knows exactly how to attack a McDermott/Rivera D after practicing against them for years.

Let's be real, your team isn't 3-7 because they suck in skills. They are 3-7 because of a lot of mental mistakes made by everyone; throw in laziness at times, and even not knowing what it takes to close out games and you will see why your team is 3-7. That goes from the top all the way down to your kicker. Did you see him shank that ball? SMDH It's a good thing your defense did step up when they did and prevented the Eagles from keeping the ball for a long time.

This team is young but there is still a lot of old bad habits lingering in the minds of this team.. It won't come over night but as I said before, the day this team figures out that wanting to win and know how to win isn't mutually exclusive and they have to cease every opportunity to win, you watch what happens. Mark my word.

The Panthers could have easily blown out the Eagles and they should have. They just need to seriously stop making so many mental mistakes that costs them. It's clearly not an individual thing but a systematic thing because every part of the team seem to fall victim to it. If it's not defense, it's offense. If it's not offense, it's defense. If it's not offense nor defense, it secondary team. This team really needs to break that mental cycyle because it's seems quite contagious and everyone will continue to fall victim to no matter how great they played before this team.
