As I've said before, tanking the season would be difficult to pull off when you have guys playing for the lives of their careers. It would take a coaching sabotage, and while it often seems like that is what Rivera and Chud are doing, I don't think their jobs are safe enough for that to be the case.

There are no sure things in the draft at any spot.

Obviously this is true, but, according to the generic trade value chart, there is a 1,700 "point" difference between the #1 overall pick and the #10 overall pick (possible if we do finish 4-2 again, 6-10 overall), basically pissing away the value of ANOTHER top 5 pick! Even the drop from #5 to #10 is equivalent "value" of throwing away a top 50 draft pick. These are not just invaluable on the field, but could play a large factor in contract negotiations/luring our new GM and coach.
