The 49ers just benched the previous NFC offensive player of the week, a guy who is completing 70% of his passes this year, went 18/19 against Arizona two weeks ago and a 153 passer rating, took his team to a 6-2 record, after going 13-3 last year and ending up in the NFC championship game while beating our divisional rivals, the Saints, in spectacular fashion.....all to get just a little bit better.

If only our FO would have the same balls and sense to do the same with Newton I would personally buy an entire stack of beautiful, and plush Carolina Panthers towels and deliver them to Cam to keep him busy on the bench...right next to Pickles where they can both hide under them and play Angry Birds on their iPhones.

I hate to bust your gay men fantasy, but suggesting we should bench a QB who has led a team to 2 season of atrocious records, has managed to get the GM and coach fired that drafted him, has shown little improvement, is not very accurate, rarely-if ever -plays good from behind, can't read defenses, can't lead a team to 4th quarter comeback wins and 2 years later he is busting his ass hoping to someday achieve mediocrity......... is NOT controversial.

Most 49ers fans I know cant stand Smith. They know his limitations and arent fooled by his fraudulent QB stats. The 49ers have the #1 rushing attack in the NFL. And the 27th ranked passing attack. Smith is a "glorified Clausen", he constantly check downs and makes "safe" throws rather than force tough ones downfield. Hence the high completion rate and low amount of INTs. But in 8 years of football, dude has proven his arm cant win you games, just manage them. Those backs make Smith and Kap's job's a hell of a lot easier. Take away their run game, and both QBs would struggle, although I agree Kap can make throws and plays Smith wishes he could.

The whole "cleaning the board up" apparently was a 1 day effort. Several of the threads in the last 3 days are loaded with posts that should be an absolute embarrassment to every mod or admin.

Yeah, the personal insults and worse generate posts. But I suspect there are many like me that visit here less and post less when the forum is cluttered with that kind of nonsense.
