Bismack Biyombo Appreciation Thread

Rebounds per 48 isn't a terrible stat, but I much prefer rebound rate.

Rebound Rate puts Adrian as the best rebounder on the Bobcats at 16, with Bizmack 2nd at 15.4.

Coupled with the fact that he leads the team in both rebounds and RB/48 and is second in rate. I'd say it's easy to say he's the Bobcats best rebounder.

For reference Haywood is at 14 RBR. MKG is at 12.7 RBR and Mullens is at 14.6

Bismack has become our best all around rebounder, but that's because he has a pretty good offensive rebound rate coupled with an average defensive rebound rate. He really needs to hit the defensive boards much harder and he has the potential to be a very good defensive rebounder.

Haywood, and Adrian both have higher Offensive Rebound rates.

Haywood at 12.4, Adrian at 11.1 with Bizmack at 10.3

Mullens is the best DRBR at 23.5, Adrian at second with 21.1 and Bizmack at 20.7.

So he's the third best DRBR on the team and the 3rd best ORBR. Neither of them being all that good overall. Bobcat fans have to keep in mind that he's only 20, he's in his second year and he's only been playing basketball for a couple of years.

Trust me I know that stats lol.

That's why I said he's probably the best overall rebounder on the team, although you can also make an argument for Adrien.

I still believe in the potential that Biz has, but man he's so below average as a starter... the kids APER is 9.61 which is basically bench warmer level. Obviously APER (and especially PER) isn't the only stat that you should use to judge a player, but it does provide a good guideline to guage what kind of overall impact a player makes. Again, I do believe in his potential and I think that he'll at the very least get to role player status, although I'd like to see him get to starter level obviously (and I think that he can do it as he gains experience).
