Loss to Eagles=Rivera Gone

Meaning people who have followed the team wouldn't be expecting the firing of the HC before season end.

You missed my post where I stated why I felt like Ron Rivera being fired after the season is the right move and that he wouldn't and shouldn't be fired during the season.

My point in this post is due to the Eagles injuries, missing their two most important players, and due to the fact of the game being played on Monday night football these circumstances raises the stakes a little bit.

I've been following this team for years and the Hurney firing proved one thing and that's the notion that anything can happen.

What did firing Hurney in the middle of the season accomplish?

It gave the team time to research and hire the best GM before the end of the season....the off season is the time when a good GM makes a difference.

It would also be very wise to have the GM in place before hiring a new coach.

The ONLY reason you would fire him now is if you really believed someone on your staff was a viable candidate. Chud and McD should not even be mentioned as possibilities.

So, based on a GM search and crappy coordinators, the smart thing to do us ride this season out with Rivera and then move on.

Rivera will finish the season and we will have 4 wins. We will pick top 3 and next year there will be a new GM and a brand new coaching staff. That's it. Rivera will not be retained. If he thinks he might save his job with a win streak in the last 3 or 4 games, I highly doubt it. He does have one more year, but the losing culture on this team has got to be eradicated and he's done nothing to convince me he has an answer.

JR just isn't going to axe the guy. That's not his style. Besides...what's the worst that could happen? We don't win any more games and virtually guarantee a franchise pick. Big deal.

However, if JR doesn't put a viable product out there on the field within 3 years, this franchise could dry up. Seriously. It's time to put up or shut up for this team. The culture of losing will not be tolerated by fans indefinitely. 4 winning seasons in 17 is pathetic.

If this next GM and HC don't build a winner, I think the gig will be up. I definitely don't want that to happen, but LA sure does.
