Worth Buying an XBox360 on Black Friday?

With console gaming on the decline and gaming systems not turning a profit for several years after they are first released, it wouldn't shock me to see MS and Sony push their next gen systems away.

Game systems used to be upgraded because tech advances could make the graphics significantly better. That's not the case anymore and graphics are less important to gamers now than they used to be, so why bother pushing out a new product?

All the money is in games. Sony and MS would be better off putting their resources towards game development.

I think the Xbox has aged more though then the ps3, ps 3 already has Blueray and a large internal HDD the Xbox needs to move towards blueray and maybe a TB for internal HDD. the next Xbox I think will be a hybrid, DVR/gaming system/ full computer that's solely entertainment purposed . If they were to do that it could mean an end to PC gaming as we know it and expand their market holding by teaming up with Internet and tv providers.

It's the way it's heading. the question is if we will see it go this way this gen or next.

People have been saying the end to PC gaming has been coming for 10 years now....

well it's bound to happen at some point!

On a real note it will happen as soon as someone incorporates a pc playing mechanics into a console, MS has already taken steps in that direction.

Gaming companies want larger markets to take their product to and console companies want to expand market size.

It's bound to happen at some point, it's a question of when not if.

I could go into why cable and broadcast TV as we know it will be dead in 25 years but that's another topic all together

I really doubt it will ever happen because PC's have always, and will always have the ability to upgrade hardware as an x-factor.....

a nitch group how many people want to upgrade their pc themselves every so often? Not many as soon as a game system comes out with the ability to play pc games, pc gaming companies will cease to push for the constant improvements when they have a base system to worry about programming for its just going to happen, don't shoot the messenger.

Studied market forecasts for a while, and broadcast media and entertainment progress

PC games will ALWAYS be around. MMO's can't be played on console. WoW still has 10 mill subs, and they are still putting out MMOs yearly. Elder Scrolls MMO for instance.

Not to mention the hundreds of sweet Indy titles that are released on PC and easily obtainable on Steam. There is a ton of people still playing PC games around the world. Not to mention PC still owns consoles in the graphic department. I'd argue that PC gaming is in a great place right now.

Alright, I've got a related question. I'm set on getting a console bundle, and I've found two different ones with 250GB hard drives. Both come with Forza, but the second game it comes with differs. Best Buy has it with Skyrim. Microsoft has it with an anniversary edition of the original Halo. I plan to get Halo 4 regardless. Is Skyrim good?

get the skyrim and forza 4 bundle its well worth it. Skyrim is amazing even on 360 along with forza 4 which is actually a pretty good game.
