I enrolled in college a few times, just wasn't my cup of tea. I sure wish it was, but for now it's just not ideal. Will probably do online courses and/or part-time classes within the next few years. Just four classes short of an Engineering degree.

Good luck in finishing your degree. Just keep remembering how close you are.

what did you read that somehow made you think i was conveying personal bitterness?

gov't paid for like 85% of my college education and i've already been working with a financial company, and i've got an interview lined up for a management position internship next week. Nothing to be bitter about

Good luck on your upcoming interview. You will soon be a financial success and expected to pay 75% tax rates to support all of the deadbeats out there.

I hope you are drunk. If not, you truly have the IQ of a turnip.

Don't be jealous that I made more money last year than you make in a decade.

If only your mother had known she was pregnant a few weeks earlier. Then she could have aborted you like she wanted. Instead, she got a son that has to wear a protective helmet and has to wear shoes with velcro.

You would think that someone as financially successful as yourself would be more secure with himself.

Instead, you're a bitter old man yelling about how much better you are than everyone else through your keyboard. Guess money doesn't buy contentment after all. I've said nothing about what I do or don't do with my life now, because I don't feel the need for a message board to know how amazing or terrible my life is. I'm happy with it. Sorry you can't say the same.

My parents paid for zero of my college education. I worked 3 jobs and paid for 100% of my education without borrowing a cent.

I did not party for 4 years...I lived at home for 3 of those 4 years...I never went on spring break....I worked 60 hrs a week during summer.

You don't have to go into debt to get an education.

Of course this was back when the government footed most of the bill and tuition was a fraction of what it is now but yeah, totally.

There are tons of people who work to put themselves through school....who do 2 years at CC and 2 yrs at a local 4 year school.

I have zero sympathy for that person who borrows over 100k to go to little private liberal arts schools and major in something that you can't make a living at.....sociology, political science, etc.

There are many ways to get an education without going into massive debt. However, those who want to not work during school, not work during summers, go on summer vacations and spring break trips, get no sympathy.

Lately today's generation just sits around and bitches that someone doesn't give them something else for free.

100K to go to a private liberal arts college? Baahahhahahhaha. What magical fairy land is this? Can I borrow a nickle to go get a Coke?

Kids these days can't suck off the government teat and get heavily taxpayer subsidized tuition as easily as you did.

Just threw 100k out there as a number. I know it is more.

My point is that these little liberal arts schools with said degrees are not even worth 100k ....much less the more likely 200k

Anyone borrowing money to attend these schools are crazy.

100 K is more like a public school

In state.

But yeah, everybody could totally do that working nights and weekends.

Sounds a tad high.

Granted I'm 6 years out of school, but I made it out in 4 years for under 40k while living on campus.

My wife took 6 years and came out better than 30k, but she never lived on campus.
