Ugly personnel decisions on the way

Beason and Williams are untradable w/ their contracts. We are just going to have to pick and choose....will flat out have to cut a few. Take a hit.

Have to keep Beason. Cut Williams, probably Gamble and Godrey. Gross and Smitty should retire, that would be best for everyone.

If we have to absorb the penalty for cutting/trading then so be it at this point. Too much money being wasted to not get some type of production from these guys. And Gross being an issue on that terrible OLine...he def doesn't deserve his contract at this point

b/c Smitty's time here is up. It happens w/ coaches and players. He represents the past. Old aging players are great when they act like Jerry Rice and hang on. Smitty will continue to be less explosive....yet still bring his attitude, drama, whine to the media, and be a thorn in the side of young leadership attempting to take over and lead. Smith knows it.

Truth hurts sometimes. But we will literally have no WR core if he leaves/retires

Players change teams all the time and have success.

I doubt we get many offers for Gamble at his age coming off an injury

I don't think Chris' age would be a problem considering the position he play. The injury might put some off, but I think we could at least get a 3rd or 4th for him.

Godfrey is an average Safety, could be replaced with a FA or a high draft pick rookie.

Guess we'll have to just disagree... I think Smitty has more left in him than just "some aging WR with an attitude."

I didn't say Godfrey wasn't overpaid, but I don't think you're gonna replace his level of play if you cut him. Pretty much the same thing with Gross. If he retires or we cut him, are we gonna draft a LT with our #1 pick? We'd pretty much have to.

Ron Edwards? why do you think CJ and Hardy are having good years? The Edwards duo are taking pressure off of them to make plays. Oh and BTW, in a 4-3, its the LB's job to stop the run, its the DT jobs to try and stuff the running lanes.

Having met Beason, he is our Ray Lewis on Defense, he's the Defenses Capt and true leader, I think Zod will agree with me on that with him also having spent time around him.

I think cutting Beason would be a huge mistake, yes he hasn't been around lately but the guy when he gets back healthy again will be a force to reckon with. I still think he's our best player on defense when healthy.

Gamble may be old but he's our best CB, and with the way our backfield is right now it needs all the help it can get.

You have to get rid of household name players, face it. Whether you like it or not, some good players will be gone. Ron Edwards is old and we can replace him in FA easily.
