How many yards did the read option lose us today?

Not true, mixed it in last year.....offense was great.

Look at RGIII's stat line today mixing it in....and on the season. RGIII completed 14 of 15 passes for 4 TDs. 12 carries for 80 rushing as well.

With anything, you do it too much or with bad talent for what you are attempting and it won't work.

We should stop.....not bc the read option can't work mixed in but bc our OL is so bad our RBs struggle even getting back the the line of scrimmage

Shanahan runs the same offense he ran during denver's super bowl years. There's always a man open. It's usually a short pass. If and when the defense bites down on that short pass, then there's a deep man open. It's a simple but effective offense. The fact that RGIII can run just gives Shanahan an extra toy that he can play with. RGIII rolling out ALWAYS has a wide open receiver in front of him. Like clockwork.

Compare that to our offense, where everything funnels through Cam, and our OL and receivers are never sure who and where they need to block. We usually don't have that underneath route. When we do, it's not fooling anybody and is usually overthrown.

How many times today did we have a drive going and the read option gets stuffed for a lose and sets the offense back?

How many times did we run out of a shotgun? Or line up in a shotgun in the red zone?

Did you notice how even with injuries to their OLine the Bucs kept running the ball out of power sets? Even when it didn't amount to nothing. Which in the end tired our defense down.

Why can't Cam change a play when he sees the defense loading up against the run?

Chud sucks and it will be a brighter day in charlotte when he is gone.

Didn't the coaching staff go back watch the first game. The Read Option did not work then and cost us that game. He ran it over and over constantly putting the offense in 3rd and long situations and he called the same plays yesterday.

When is Chud going to understand the Read Option cannot be your main staple in the running game. It is a gimmick play and only should be ran three to four times a game. AND PLEASE NO MORE READ OPTIONS ON 3RD AND SHORT SITUATIONS.

funny, schiano said prior to the game that we were easy to beat last time because he was so familiar with the read option from college.

so we just give it to him again.

knowing that his defense is about the best in the league against the run but the worst in the league against the pass.

just waaaayyyyy too dumb.

and rivera did nothing to tell chud to quit being an ass and try something different.

i actually seen him audible yesterday twice. the 1st time Barron came flying down to the box showing a blitz and i heard from home Cam give an easy- easy call which tells the offense to audible but Olsen jumped offsides. on the other audible he hit Olsen going up the seam.now why they didnt audible when Ronde came and blitz is just dumb, especially when Tolbert and Stew pointed at him coming off the edge.

I would be very curious to know what our average yrds per play when running the Read Option this year is. Anyone know how we could find this out? I would be surprised if it is even 1.5 yrds per play. It seems to loose yrds more than gain them.

Probably actually better than under C.....b/c of Cam factors in for read option.

that assumes when going for 1 yard Cam actually had a another play he could audible to and that it would counter what Rhonde was doing.

they didnt need to audible from the play because the run was actually away from the blitz. but no one blocked him backside, someone missed an assignment.

wasn't a missed assignment. Bell can't engage him....and he was the only guy who could of elected to.

handicapped offense. that is what happens. Someone blocks Rhonde then it means you come off the guy you are suppose to block towards where the play was intended to run.
