The question is do you have Room? I'm not sure about what lighting element that mistu uses but They have made good Tvs in the past. 73" is A LOT if screen real estate for me. It also probably wont hang flat because it's a projection tv.

I might brave my local hhgregg to check it out.

The 73" will be about 18" deep, it is NOT a hang-on-the-wall TV. It is the most picture inch-per-dollar, but have a look at the picture quality. I own a Mits DLP, a 2004 52", and would get another. Go take a look, check viewing angles, the picture looks much better straight-on the at any off-angle. The refresh rate is supposed to be 2nd to none, much faster than any 120hz display. Also, if you like the picture, see what model it is. I know the higher up models, the Diamond Series, have a built in surround bar, it sounds awesome and has a subwoofer output on the back, very nice...

You will get a sharper picture from a LCD or LED TV but you wont be able to beat that price....

Have I answered all your questions today? Anything else I can help you with?

We are all one consciousness experiencing itself, life is but a dream in which we are the imaginations of ourselves....

My mailboxes are always full....

Eventually you'll have to change the bulbs in the DLP TV. I personally try to avoid buying things that have guaranteed future costs.

Replacement bulb is only about $35 now... As opposed to the $300 I paid in 2008 for the same thing...

whatever room you stick that TV in is going to be hot as hell....make sure you keep a window cracked

Nah, just put a small shelf over the back of the TV, keeps them nachos warm...

    • i think i go in the opposite direction of most. my ideal retirement is living in some old downtown area in a flat above some shop or something.  life out in the country was just something i got real tired of. My kids actually miss some of living out there, which i understand. that was where they grew up for the most part. 40 acres with a 2.5 acre pond. it was beautiful, but also way too much (and too expensive) for me to keep up with.
    • FLASHBACK: I remember back when ESPN was just starting--he was their anchor.  They used to show stuff like Rodeo and field hockey--I remember laughing when he went to a commercial mocking a cycling competition in Utah (or something similar--I made that up) and I laughed.  I told my dad, "We may have us a new anchor when we get back from commercial."  When they came back from commercial, Berman was looking very serious and he said, "Any comments by me do not reflect the views of ESPN....The men and women who cycle are dedicated athletes and we are honored to shine light on their sport." (Paraphrasing).  Dad laughed hysterically. My first memory of him--and that was like 1980.
    • Might not have a team without them. Although that probably applies to the Panthers, too.
