Stadium improvements

Of course JR will ask for money from Charlotte, the fans in Charlotte means much more to the reason teh Panthers are here than JR, despite not having as much 'power'. If we can build a stupid light rail for half a billion, we can pay half that and keep the Panthers, the only thing worth a poo IMO, in charlotte.

LOL, Charlotte didn't pay half a billion for the light rail. The federal govt, followed by the state govt and then Charlotte payed for it.

They want 250? City will go into full meltdown mode.......hell didn't we just have a big show down over giving a couple mill to help build the baseball stadium downtown? hell these folks are still complaing about building the bobcats stadium. If JR takes a hard line this is going to be real ugly...watch

Nobody said Richardson would ask for as much as 250. That was the number floated previously as the anticipated cost, although the conversation I had suggests that the total costs will be higher.

The Panthers will obviously pay some portion of the cost. How much public assistance they seek is the key question. Remember that they can also appeal to the state legislature or state agencies for direct or indirect assistance; Charlotte has some clout there now, although it's still a very tough issue.

The hell with appealing to Panther fans in Charlotte. JR needs to take this angle to get support for public $$ in Charlotte:

"If the panthers dont get the upgrades and we leave, you won't get to invade our stadium when your Yankee team or bandwagon team comes to Charlotte every other year."

Play to the masses for public money, not some niche like us Panther fans.

Well yeah, based on crowd makeup the question is just how nice do you want the stadium when your favorite team comes to town.

Pony up NC.

Gentlemen and fellow Melanistic Leopard fans, you forget who will soon occupy the Gov's mansion in Raleigh. Yes, that's right our very own Pat McCrory. Now let's not get into an I like him/Don't like him thing. The point is soon to be Gov. Pat is a hugh Panther fan, and again; love'em , hate'm or don't care, Pat knows the importance of the Carolinas having a team, and what it means to this region, not to mention that South Carolina could be a player in funding too since the Cats rep both Carolinas. Sure there will be bickering and posturing but in the end the improvements will get done. This team means too much for ALL of us.

Dude just dont post anymore! Sick of the negative posts this season.

Jacksonville is going everyone kows that. They have had issues year after year trying to just sell out a game. their market is small and having 3 teams in florida was about as smart as pouring hiney on yourself standing next to a bear,

lol, man that was a joke...chill out...

I know a little more than I should but that isn't something I feel comfortable sharing with everyone on this board.

I DO know I can share this, so it can give you a little taste of the vision that JR has for the stadium.

If a man was 50 when the Panthers came to town and he bought PSLs in the 500s from day 1......he would now be 66? Almost 67? Don't trust my math on that one...

His view is that same man, now 67, still has to walk ALLLLL the way up to the 500s these days. Why not provide escalators for him?

There is a lot more to the stadim upgrade than just escalators and more than would definitely benefit Sponsors and the money coming into the team as well.
