Is this team about dollars or about change?

would you give up part of your paycheck every week to have better performing peers around you at work for the good of lthe companies bottom line?

Generally speaking, no.

The top performers often get peanuts until their rookie deal runs out, so if they get a chance at a big payday with the 2nd contract, they deserve the money.

In a few cases when a player is facing getting cut with no guarantee of earning more elsewhere they will consider a reduction, but that's rare.

And sometimes it's just a pride thing. We might have kept Wharton had he been willing to sign for what Cinci paid him.

Every team has players that are making too much; however, we have players making too much that aren't even playing or arent playing at a high level. Those guys like Gross, Beason, and DW must be restructured. Tolbert needs to be let go unless we unload DW in offseason. I think Poole can do well as the number 3 rb.

If we can just address those three, we will be in a much better position with the cap.

The scariest thing is...the Panthers "sell out" every home game. Meaning, Jerry Richardson and the Panthers organization receive the full amount of possible ticket sales. Regardless if the team wins and regardless if the stadium is actually full, financially the Panthers are killing it because of PSL's and other team's fans coming to games.

So where is the real motivation to win games? I'm sure Jerry wants to win, because his lease on life will soon come to an end...so maybe after years of just keeping the boat afloat with safe financial moves, he'll bet the farm and really go for it. But he has no monetary reason to, so, who knows.
