2009 is Fox's "Put up or Shut up" season....

I don't think so. If injuries cause the season to crumble I think he'll be here. If we do get a new coach it will have to be someone who doesn't overhaul the whole system. We've got the talent to go far for a while. I like Marty and Billeck, I think Cowher is a bit overrated. However I'd like Fox to take us to a couple superbowls so I'd be happy to stick with him.

NE lost Brady week 1 and went 11-5 w/ a kid who started one game in college as a TE as there QB. Injuries will happen and coaches have to be ready to adjust. Fox doesn't adjust well in most aspects of the game. Give him a healthy team so he can execute his standard gameplan.....and he normally has a decent season......

........a losing season and there is no reason to keep Foxy. He will have had more than a fair shot to put together some consistancy in Carolina after next season.

One of Fox's best coaching jobs ever was 2004 when he had a slew of injuries and they started off 1-7. He worked with the backups and subs and they finished the year 6-2 and barely missed the playoffs. He adjusted very well. Other than in 2002 when 7-9 was a huge improvement over 1-15, and the above mentioned 2004, his only losing season was 2007 when he lost Jake for 13 games. We didn't have a plan for that but I believe that Moore could come in and be our Matt Cassel if need be.

One thing about Fox is he tries to avoid the same problem twice. When he lost Jake in 2007 and didn't have a plan he made sure to get McCown so he would have a veteran backup. When we lost all our running backs in 2005 we got Williams in 2006 and carried more on our practice squad who could be moved up.

I think he makes good adjustments for the long term. I don't think he adjusts as well for example in games from half to half or from series to series.

Fox made a late adjust in 04 season but the season was done. He finally brought the heat on defense. Fox made a late adjust in 07 by FINALLY going with Moore. Fox doesn't make in game adjustments well, painfully obvious ones are ignored b/c they mean going against his philosophy, and he doesn't make adjustments well, period.....yes he does make them but they usually fall under the category of too little too late.

Injuries happen. It is the NFL. If Fox can't put back to back winning seasons together he won't continue to keep his job. imo.
