Black Ops 2 vs Medal of Honor: Warfighter

So, I have been weighing these two against each other. From what I have seen/read, both have their strengths and weaknesses. MOH:W is apparently very close to more of a Battlefield look and feel to it, while at the same time having a flavor of CoD as far as ease of control and it's fair share of bad spawning. BO2 is apparently the same sort of game, with a good campaign and a multiplayer that is just as frustrating as usual due to some bad killstreak rewards that rob the game of some of it's fun in the way they're used. In short, both multiplayers are fun in their own ways, but they are different. More team-oriented in MOH:W and more pure arcade in BO2. MOH:W requires tactical thought and precision whereas BO2 is the stock run-n-shoot sort of game.

MOH:W also isn't as popular, which means a smaller player base, which means less annoying ass kids who play so badly or so annoyingly that they rob the game of fun with BS.

So, the question to you guys who have played one or both, which do you prefer? I am going to get one gifted to me for my birthday in a few weeks and was told to pick. I was TERRIBLE at the first Black Ops game and didn't really enjoy it that much (though, I didn't log NEARLY as many hours on it as I did all the other CoD titles, so that may have something to do with it). I enjoyed MW3 a bit, but I also, as always, found myself saying "that's fuging bullshit" at least twice each match. Considering MOH:W for that reason, and to just try something new. My money isn't at risk, since it's a gift, but I also want something I will actually ENJOY playing long-term.

I much prefered the first Black Ops to MW 2 or 3, but those are honestly the only shooter type games I've ever played, and I only played MW 2/3 once or twice each.

I pretty much exclusively play Madden... And some Little Big Planet now and again. Went through a big Skyrim phase at a point too.

Totally rambling now, sup. I have no input.

MoH is garbage. I didn't buy it, but I spent a lot of time watching live streams of people playing it. The only thing it has going for it is the Frostbite 3 engine. They tried to be like Call of Duty, but if you want CoD, play CoD. The MoH in 2010 was also terrible. This is basically EA trying to cash in.

So far BO2 is, ok. It's what you expect. Pick10 system is neat, but the game still has all the same flaws it has had for years. If you have a good connection, you are punished since it lowers you to the speed of everyone else in the room. The spawns are still very, very bad. I find myself dying 3-4 times min. a match because someone spawns right behind me (seen it in the corner of maps too). The whole "I can only see the top of their head yet they shot me/got a gun over that barrier" glitch, in full force still. Sniping is super easy and half the room is doing such. It is what it is, Call of Duty.

In the end, Battlefield 3 is a superior game in almost every way. The graphics, the gameplay, etc, just trumps those games so much.

I couldn't agree more with Zaximus. MoH is bad IMO. It is trying to be a more realistic CoD, but just comes off as a knockoff. It's like buying a Panthers jersey from China. No matter how much you try to convince yourself that it is high-quality, the color is off, the logos are sewn wrong, the player name font is askew. It just looks, well, off. BLOPS2 is a good game if you are looking for a cartoonish, arcade style shooter. The kill streaks and everything, the amount of children, etc., make for an 'interesting' game atmosphere. I bought MoH in 2010 and was pissed I wasted my money. I bought Black Ops 2 and don't have regrets because it is a good game for what it is.

All that being said, if I could play just one shooter right now it's Battlefield 3 and its not even close. The realism in that game is mind-boggling, the maps and landscapes are beautiful, and the way they incorporate vehicles makes them fun to use, but they balance things out enough that you don't feel like you are forced to drive around in a tank all game long. Plus, the devs are still releasing tons of new content for BF3, I believe Aftermath comes out in December? Also, since you are joining late, you can get the premium edition for the same cost of the regular edition instead of having to pay $50 more like the rest of us did, and premium gives you access to all previous DLC map packs as well as the upcoming ones. I put my money where my mouth is, because I enjoy BF3 so much I have it for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

If you can only get one, I encourage you to buy BF3 Premium Edition. You won't be disappointed. I promise you that.

I'm getting MOH tonight...for $20.

(EA has an office in my building)

I should really get back into BF3. I haven't played since "The Patch." My favorite gun was the FAMAS, and no other gun in the game played like it, so when they destroyed it, I was basically starting from square 1, with guns I had no idea how to use, and was usually using iron sights. Aftet the patch my K/D dropped from 1.24 to 1.15 in 2 weeks, so I stopped playing.

Perhaps it's time to dust it off and try again.

I wanted to try MOH decided against it.. Shooters nowadays are just bad.. I'd love to play Halo 4 as I love the halo games but I refuse to buy one system just to play one game it's just dumb. As far as COD goes.. Played B-ops and MW3 didn't like either one of them but played to appease my friends. Zombies was the only thing that wasn't completely stupid so if you have to have one go with the zombies.

I don't get CoD. It's so inconsistent You can be having a good 1-2 hours then hit detection is off/lag. I hate how it drops everyone to the speed of the worst connection in the room. Ultimately, those with slower connections actually have an advantage over people with good connections. Black Ops 2 has bad spawns just like the last 4 games.

I never understood how you could make a game and have almost the perfect model for a FPS (Call of Duty 4) and continue to put our inferior spawn design and matchmaking. Why can't they get dedicated servers? They have MORE money than BF3 does and CoD is less intensive.
