Hearing of a trade in the works: Matt Carroll from Charlotte to New Orleans for Hakim Warrick

EDIT: For caps purposes. Carroll is a $3.5 million expiring and Warrick has two years left at $2 million per. So the cats would take on an extra $500k for someone who may actually produce off the bench occasionally.

Was looking at some of his career stats. He was only averaging around 7 mins per game in NO. But his production while playing has been terrific, especially if you prorate is statistics over a 48 minute period. I like the trade, he'll get more of a opportunity which should serve as more motivation. Carroll wasn't seeing the floor anyway seeing how we have BG coming off the bench. Way to be proactive Bobcats. People can call MJ a bad owner all they want, but the guy is learning and I'm happy he's our owner. GJ BOBCATS beat the Wizards tonight....I'll be watching.

Details in the guy?

He's never been a full time starter. Seeing his most minutes for the Grzzlies at the start of his career. Best year was averaging around 12 points a game in 23 minutes of action, though there was was never really drop off in his production if equated to his mpg. We'll be good depth for us coming off the bench. He's 6'9 215. From what I've remember of this guy I think he's quick and has a good mid range game. Defensively he's kind of light and I'm not sure he's gonna be able to body up against some of the thicker forwards. But he fits in an up tempo scheme, and possesses the ability to get up and down the floor. Overall I think he's really good depth that can provide solid production off the bench.

Really a good trade. The extra year means nothing really. PF is the spot we could use the most help.

I loved Carroll as a person and he was a hard worker. I think him and Kemba really got a long. But he wasn't see minutes and he doesn't add much besides spot up shooting.

    • They reached for Pickett, so they are not immune to it.  I could see that as well.  I just think the Colts are flying under the radar and they have been too quiet concerning their QB situation--of course, they could think Jones is their guy (they had a good one named Jones a long time ago) but I think they are done with the Richardson experiment.   Even if I believed in Jones, I would still draft a QB--I also read one mock that said the Jets would take Sanders if he falls to 7---I disagree, but I was once wrong and it still bothers me.
    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
