Do you ever buy things just because Cam endorses it?

Tony Franklin??

on my fretless with a little bit of effects...yeah. didn't go out and buy anything because of him, though. the firm was a pretty big inspiration for my early bass playing. probably still have some tony franklinish elements in my playing (not that i play very much at all anymore).

as far as equipment...probably geddy lee and chris squire were my main inspirations behind getting my rickenbacker and my string of choice for it has been whatever billy sheehan uses...i guess it's rotosound now but he's had others. loved the snarling dogs ones he had.

i try to avoid name brand stuff b/c most of the time you are just paying for the name...esp. clothes.

had a friend that made it a point to remove every logo from every piece of equipment he had...cars, tools, lawn mowers...everything. said that if they wanted him to market their name they should pay him. he said it was stupid for people to pay to market someone else's crap. i wish i cared enough to do the same, but i see his point.

Yeah, i see his point but I agree with you. Im not going to take the time to debadge my Kobalt tools, Craftsman lawn mower and Toro weed eater. I seriously doubt me trolling my yard while cutting my grass is impacting their sales numbers. lol!
