Games are won and lost in the trenches...

It's easily forgotten, but if you don't protect your QB you're not going to win a ball game. Despite a huge discrepancy in talent, the Rams are in OT against the 49ers. Why? They've protected their QB all day long. Looking at the box score Bradford has been sacked once, and hit another five times. So that's a total of six times Bradford has been contacted while trying to throw a pass. Let's compare that to Newton who today was sacked seven times, and hit another seven. So Cam was hit eight more times today, with some of those hits coming from pass rushers who were given free passes. If we can't protect the QB better we can't win games. We have to hit the QB, and keep our QB from being hit. Sounds simple, but right now we can't do the second one .....

Cam needs better receivers and also needs to get rid of the ball much quicker. It's on everyone. Especially the OC who needs to start making some timing routes. Quick slants, button hooks etc. Run the fuging ball and take pressure off Cam.

I'll agree that there's more to it then just protecting Cam, but if you can't win the battle at the LOS you can't win the game....

Another example, look at CIN/NYG. Eli was sacked four times today and hit another eight, while Dalton wasn't sacked, and only hit once. The result....Eli throws for just over 200 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions, while Dalton has one of his best days as a pro completing 70% of his passes with four touchdowns and no interceptions....

The reason this hasn't been posted is because its something even the most casual football fan will understand.

Congratulations on making the thank you captain obvious thread of the day.

My point was to point out that until we get linemen that are worth a damn our QB isn't going to succeed on a consistent basis. I'm fully aware it's obvious, but the post was really just to bring a little reality to the Cam sucks BS. Sorry that bothered you....

What pisses me off is that's exactly what we did on our 1st qtr TD drive. Then Chud's genius took over.

This coaching staff cannot get out of town quick enough for me.
