Does anyone have a reliable source inside the organization?

None of us personally know his intelligence. He may be less intelligent, but most football players are retarded by societies standards.

Quoting you:

"most football players are retarded by societies standards."

This quote is very profound. We do not know Cam's intelligence, but you know what society's (not societies, pal) standards are and that most football players are "retarted" compared to those standards.

Now I want to qoute you again as you defend Cam:

"None of us personally know his intelligence. He may be less intelligent,..."

Wow.I promise that I will never call you out for trying to sound smart like you did me. You have my word on that.

A QB's intelligence on the field is rather obvious if you know what you are looking for. Audibles (or lack of making them), check downs, leadership, reads, not making stupid throws or knowing when to throw it away. We know his intelligence as a football player.

I stopped reading the post at that comment.

Read something from 2012. Then come back and post.

This makes no sense. It sounds to me as if you are TRYING to say this:

"I do not agree with you, so instead of forming a counterpoint and discussing the differences with an open mind and interesting counter perspective, I am going to discuss my literacy defficiencies and then ask you to read something current and explain it to me."

I was not reading anything. I was referring to the game on TV. Ah, Huggers.

Cam is not performing as an intelligent QB. How many audibles do you see him call? How well is he going through his progressions? Heck, if you watch the game recordings slowly, you will see that he misreads the option a huge percentage of the time. What does he have to do to prove he is not getting it right now? The problem could be the coaching staff, but to say that Cam is a smart QB just is not true.

I want Cam to be the best QB in the NFL for years to come, but he is not right now. Does he have the physical tools? Yes. Does he have the acumen? Maybe he will with the right mentor. Does he have the leadership? NO. Does Cam have the right attitude to become a smart QB and leader?

If you say yes, you are lying. Something has to change.

Cam is not allowed to make audibles. What Chud calls is final. There is no changing the play at the line of scrimmage.

Actually what I'm saying is Cam is not allowed to call audibles, therefore making that point an invalid attack on his intelligence.

I know. That is the problem. I think if he were capable, he would be given that opportunity.

Or maybe your just too ignorant to see that he was capable last year of playing effectively in a pro style offense and even in the two minute offense but of course you'll just keep regurgitating the "fact" that he is too dumb to be playing QB, so why bother?

They have weighed, measured, and catagorized him-that is why he is less successful. 2011 had nothing to do with his intelligence-it had to do with Chud and Cam's newness. The Panthers at 2-14 were not exactly the team everyone was worried about. They had no idea on how to stop him. Now they know--take away the primary read, contain pressure (did you notice how often Denver forced him to roll to his left?). That way, his athleticism is neutralized and he has to think. Heck, he even gets 40% of the reads wrong in the zone read running scheme.

You could argue that that is scheme and I would agree. However, the fact that we seem stuck in the zone read is probably because Cam is very average in a traditional set and becuase he cannot easily turn his back to the WRs while play actioning. He is holding the ball too long becuase he is waiting for a WR to break open. If he knew the routes and the coverages, along with some simple physics, he would see it coming open sooner. For example, the first pass he completed to Olsen yesterday. Olsen was wide open and the pass was delivered at the sideline, causing Olsen to stop his momentum. The pass should have hit him at the numbers on the field--he would have run for more yards. Rogers or Manning would have seen that route opening in the middle of the field and put the ball to him at the numbers.

Finally, his comments during interviews, body language, and his teammates reactions to him are telling if you watch without rose-colored glasses on. I want him to be good and smart, do not get me wrong. But he is not. How many dumb QBs have ever succeeded in the NFL?

not sure how i missed it, but this post is just beautiful.

what if...just what if this is the case?

props to you sir.

You act like teams "figured" us out......yet we implented a different approach to our offense to start the season.

you mention Denver "forced" Cam to roll to his left.....yet fail to acknowldge his signature get out of trouble move has ALWAYS been a spin back and roll to his left.

40% of his reads wrong in the zone read? Read is simple and he nails it.....issue the blocking and RB.

There has been no different approach to the offense this year. It’s the same offense from last season. And yes they did force him to the left, but what your failing to understand his "Cam" roll to the right and spin back left, is not affective when he is already rolling to his left. Not to mention he has more sacks for huge losses doing that move than he has gain yards.

I agree with you about the blocking, it’s hard to have a good Oline though when you have a rookie RG your starting Center is out for the season and your putting together a make shift line.

But to the point of his reads, that was always my biggest concern in his college films i watched. He never saw the blitz coming and had issues reading the coverage. Now this is not his fault per say. It’s a coach’s job to teach this in college and the pros. The Manning brothers had a leg up on most players with their father. I do not see cam having that much help growing up.

Right now I feel he has lost some confidence and the lack of proper play calling is not helping him at all.

What??? Traditional 2 TE, Run Heavy, Play Action based offense vs. College based shotgun-zone read-option

You don't see a difference??

"Cam" roll to the right and spin back left,

Cam is not 'rolling' anywhere. He is scrambling. We need more 'roll out' passes.
