hee hee.

still isn't as bad as how thick carson palmer is laying it on about his 85 and housh free bengals.

not saying that they don't honestly believe it...i think that williams is very sincere but i think he would be just the type of team player to say that anyways.

What else is he supposed to say about Jake? I'm sure he's friendly with Jake and Jake's a very nice guy, so why a nice guy like DeAngelo publicly blast Jake?

However, the dumbest thing a celebrity can do whether they're an actor or a singer or a pro athlete is to say something negative about the fans. If I didn't really like DeAngelo, I would probably rant about how stupid that was but luckily for him I do like him.

By the way, I'm a huge Panthers fan. That doesn't mean I have to be a Jake fan. Were Detroit fans that called for Matt Millen's head non-fans? When my brother was born with eight arms, was I a non-fan of my brother when I wanted doctors to remove six of his arms?

No one has to be a fan of any player, I just wish people would be FAIR when they critique instead of going nuts either way, especially personal nastiness which is FAR more idiotic than overpraise.

No I don't think Williams would publicly blast any player, but there's a difference between being PC and being effusive with praise, which IMO he was.

Yeah, that's what really bothers me. The worst, IMO, was right before Henning got fired. I remember that one poster even said that he wished Henning would die.

meh...fans call out the players and coaches all the time when they don't like what's being done. it's only fair that the players are allowed the same rights when they feel the fans or some of the fans are doing things that they don't like. you dish it out, be prepared to take it.

well said... shouldn't all panthers' fans be aggravated with Jake? It was our running game that took us that far into the playoffs and jake was the one who handed it away. I know Williams has to say that stuff, and I respect him for backing his teammate. However, the stuff about fans isn't true. At some point Williams will have a bad game, and because of what he's doing now he'll be exempt from two much criticism (at least on my part). Delhomme hasn't earned that.

he only called out certain fans or "non-fans who call themselves fans".

i thought it was pretty funny. everyone else would be too if they weren't the ones he was targeting. you talk bad about his boy, expect him to not be too happy about it. same with smitty.

They can do it if they want, but we don't depend on them. They depend on us.

Oh yeah, rayzor all the worst name callers being oh so sensitive to Gantt's "lunatic fringe" comment. Good times.
yeah, i was thinking about that as well...people are a little too sensitive when their disrespect is disrespected.
