Seeing what we have seen over the last 3 years.

This team, besides 2003 2005 and 2008, has been trash.

unfortunately.

the sad thign is that we've had talent in a lot of places, but management/coaching has been bad and inconsistent.

i loved the early success with fox, but i think it made him and hurney too confident. they thought they had figured it out and had the right combo so why change?

they'd follow success with a down year largely because they were complacent. that was the culture they created. the bar was set far too low.

i really hope that the new GM brings about a standard of excellence and a willingness to adapt and grow as a team as opposed to finding one way that works one time and stick with it because all of a sudden it's "proven".

I disagree... 2009 seemed almost like Our Destiny to win the Super Bowl... 2 1,000 yd rushers and our owner was undergoing a heart transplant. The story line was just too perfect... And then it happened... Him (whom I will not mention) threw 5 picks... End of destiny.

2008 was the season that Jake threw all those picks in the playoffs, 2009 we had 2 rusher for over 1K, but we only had a record of 8-8...

But the OP was talking about the last 3 years, so I was thinking 2010, 2011 and half of 2012.....

But I do agree, losing to the Cards was a downer, and it almost made me hate them as much as the Patriots....

That game. Ugh, that game. You just had to remind us.

That game was a turning point, and I think most of us knew it deep down in our hearts. Sometimes teams just have a bad game, but that one was much more. We got exposed.

I'd rather watch a bad defense. While you may never be able to stop anybody, at least you can MAYBE have a shot at a shootout. Plus, if you have a good offense, you can chew clock, which helps your cause despite of your bad defense. If you have a bad offense, you're relying on either your defense scoring (odds are not likely for that to happen often, let alone often enough to keep you in games) or a ST touchdown (even less likely than a defensive touchdown).

I was a little too young to appreciate the 96 Season, but I remember my Dad was upset that the Packers beat us in the playoffs, I just remember my Dad telling me that the Jags and Panthers have a chance to play each other in the Super Bowl. But as we know, both teams lost in the Championship games.

That was the year I fell in love with the team. People forget just how good we were that season.

And for those that b!tch about the fans, the stadium atmosphere for the playoff win against the Cowboys was electric. I couldn't talk for 3 days. When they put a good, tough team on the field, the support will be there.
