2012 Los Angeles Lakers Thread

Man that Kobe Bryant sure is a selfish ball hogger, a terrible leader, and just doesn't get it

Seriously, during the Lakers win streak Kobe has been a fantastic leader. He just does whatever is asked of him and leads by example. He guards the other teams best player at times, carries the team offensively, changes his play style completely just to try and get the team going, and has been more vocal than recent years. Of course he has always been a pretty good leader, but only Laker fans would know this.

Big shout out to Dwight Howard though. He has stepped it up in a big way. He has finally taken ownership of the team and realizes that he has just as much responsibility as Kobe does even though he is still not 100%. Dwight is just controlling the defense completely, owning the glass, and setting monster picks to free up our PnR players and/or shooters. He has just had a totally different attitude since the All Star Break.

It feels good to secure a spot in the playoffs and here's to keeping it up the rest of the season and throughout the playoffs!

add two new big pieces to the puzzle and you have to expect turbulence at the beginning. I was thinking they'd gel a little sooner, but it's coming. As said above...will be important to get Gasol back into the mix sooner than later.

haters be hatin...but you know one thing Kobe has that Lebought will never have....the knowledge that he was a center piece that a team was built around. Lebought was just another piece added to help get Wade's team over the finish line. I mean, a ring is a ring, don't get me wrong, but Kobe's all shine a little brighter I'm sure!

Kobe was Shaq's sidekick for 3 of his rings and needed to have the highest paid roster in the league to help him win 2 more, so you can stop pretending that he did poo by himself. Right now, he's "leading" a barely above .500 team with multiple hall of famers and all-stars, etc. and won't have anything to show for it at the end of the year.

As for the Lebron comments, check the facts. Who was it that won the MVP of the finals in the regular season and the finals last year? Who is on the way to win the regular season MVP again this year? And who are all of you Laker fans already hoping signs with you after his contract his up in Miami....yeah.

read it again...let me know if you need help with the big words. Doesn't say anywhere that Kobe won them on his own. Basketball is a team sport...that's the way Canadians invented it and the way it's been played all the time!!!

Kobe = centerpiece that a team was built around

Lebought - couldn't cut it in Cleveland and ran away to join Wade's team!
