2012 Los Angeles Lakers Thread

Gotta give some props to Dwight tonight. He had a monster performance playing with five fouls for a large portion of the second half. Have to respect that, and hope it's going to continue. This comeback is even sweeter being that the Jazz lost, and Houston is trailing entering the fourth....

HAHA it was bad, I'm so fuging sick of MDA and his refusal to demand defense out of his team. The guy is an absolute fuging joke. Not only does he not believe in playing on both ends of the floor, but he's too fuging stubborn to actually make adjustments to play to the teams strengths. As long as MDA is around the Lakers will not be contending, his ass should be gone the moment their officially eliminated from the playoffs. The sad truth is it probably won't happen though, because he's a Jimmy Buss guy....

Well, looks like the Lakers literally just saved their season.

Outscoring the Pelicans in the 4th 33-9.

The Black Mamba going 14 for 21 for 42 points, with 7 boards and 12 assists on the 2nd night of a back to back with a bum elbow.

Incredible win.

Only a game out of 8th right now also!

Dwight had a huge hand in that win too....

Oh I won't deny that, but let's be real here. The player of the game is Kobe Bryant and it isn't all that close. 42 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds on 67% shooting. Although this is definitely one of Dwight's best games of the year and I really appreciate him finally chipping in and playing like dominant Dwight -- can't wait until he gets fully healthy.

Utah lost, Houston losing.

How fun would it be if the Lakers pass both of them, finish in the 6th spot and open against the Clippers for supremacy in Los Angeles?

Epic.

That would honestly be the matchup I would want even though it looks like a complete mismatch on paper. If you told me the Lakers could either.... make the playoffs and play the Spurs in the first round, or play the Clippers in the first round I would take the Clippers everyday of the week. Playing every game at home in a potential first round matchup would be huge....

Kobe definitely player of the game, but the comeback doesn't happen with D12's work on defense in the fourth quarter....

That's the thing. On paper.

The Clippers in their entire history have won 2 Playoff matchups.

Other than that it's been DNQ or 1 round win and done twice in 40 plus years.

When the Clips look upwards at Staples they see all the Lakers Championship banners hanging from the ceiling.

Ouch.

Harden misses the shot, looks like he was the last to touch the ball. Should be Dallas ball with six seconds remaining!

Whew! Close call there with Collison almost turning it over. Heads to the line and ices it with two FTS though. Dallas will win barring a four point play by Houston...

Dallas wins! Now the Lakers are 1.5 back of Utah, and 2 back of Houston....
