Anyone know if there's a definitive biography about Gen. Patton? Was watching Patton 360 on the History Channel. Seems like his bio would be a good read.

I don't know about the bio, but I have been watching that Patton 360 and it's pretty good... not as good as the Battle 360 about the USS Enterprise though...

My uncle's take: Honestly, he hated his guts. Mind you, he thought Omar Bradley was fantastic, but considered Patton a glory hound who didn't give a flying crap about his men (other than as resources).

I kinda got that impression from Patton 360 where they are reading from his diaries and he says things like "I'm destined for greatness," (a paraphrase) etc...

My great-uncle served under Patton as well but he never really talked about the war....couldn't even watch war movies. Bad memories I guess.

Everything I have read about him said he was an ego maniac, and believed in reincarnation as well. But he got the job done and was WAY better at his job than Monte for the Brits.

Commanding an army doesn't mean being good buddies....do your job and do it well. Those with sand in their vaginas can wash it out after the war.
