Depends on your opinion of what a CPOY should be about. If it's about who came back from something and played the best, I guess Manning should probably win it. If it's about who overcame the most to come back and play well, it's TD hands down. Obviously more than anything it's "who's the most popular player that came back from something", and because of that it'll be Manning.

Kuechly will get more love if we continue to win. And if we do the "Rivera quietly took over the defense, started Luke in the middle and turned the team around" is a very good story that will bring the voters attention (regardless if it is true and this was the reason or not).

Kind of like the Lin hype last basketball season. The fact that an easy part of the knicks schedule probably was a larger contributer than Lins play was largely ignored. Why ruin a good story?

I have nothing but praise for Davis, and as a fellow in the "torn ACL playing football" deparment (the only time I can compare myself with the pros :D) I think it is close to a miracle that he can even play. But as far as inpact of actually play I do not think he is worthy of comeback POY consideration.

I love TD and coming back from 3 ACL surgeries is historic. But, Manning is an all-time great QB playing in a QB league at 38 years old after major neck surgery and putting up great numbers for a playoff contender. I'm as big of a Panthers and TD homer you'll find, but it's a no brainer.

Peyton was injured, not doubt, but you know it was grossly over-exaggerated by the media. He could have played last season.

Peyton himself said he called Dallas Clark to workout with him on some high school field in private bc he needed to throw to someone he could trust, primarily because he was throwing it into the dirt as a duck about 10 yards in front of him with almost no pop.

It was nerve damage in his neck and right arm. The human body can overcome a lot. Not saying the media didn't make it a big deal, but I am decently sure for 90% of people it'd have been career ending at 38.

      In the past 7 years we wouldn’t have had to TBH. We would have been better off realizing we lost Cam, Luke and many others. It was time to do an actual rebuild and save the cap space so we could keep our “good” (huddle consensus) draft picks like extending Trey Smith and Creed Humphrey instead of having cap space to burn since the long snapper and TMJ didn’t work out. Also, have enough cap space to keep some offensive weapons like CMC and Moore because we don’t have to trade up for a QB or didn’t have to “recover” picks lost in poo trades. One other note here is that, the consensus huddle would have jumped at the chance to get two 1sts and a 2nd for Burns. That alone would have been the best FA/trade move made in the history of the Panthers. It is 100% indisputable fact that a huddle consensus GM, from 2018 to 2024, would have done way better and we’d have a playoff contender right now. Maybe not a SB/NFC winning team but likely the best team in the NFC South rather than a hey we lost close games to the teams in the SB even though our D set a single season points allowed record.
