Double Standard

Jackofalltrades

That flag gets thrown every single time in today's NFL, fair or not. If you haven't noticed, this league is all about protecting the QB and when it appears a QB is stepping out of bounds, defenders must let up or else they will get a 15 yarder. This applies to every quarterback in the league, even pickles.

Very obvious you didn't read the whole OP.

People hate Cam because his attitude. He's confident and arrogant and that pisses them off. In the eyes of most of the NFL that is somehow worse than being a murderer like Ray Lewis or Vick.

Made apparent by the cheap 15 yard penalty he got off of a flop. Indeed.

So, I re-watched the Foreskins game from yesterday and was still bothered by what I thought was a bogus flag against TD in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter when Bob III was blasted, in bounds, as he approached the sideline in the red zone. It was close, but he was clearly in bounds. If you want to look it came with 1:49 left in the game.

Let me say this, if that was Manning, Brady, or a couple other immobile QB's I would just accept it, but Bob is a pretty dynamic runner who can turn on a dime. So, he is a threat to turn up the sideline and head towards the end zone.

3:03 left in the second half Cam is flushed out of the pocket to his right, he starts to head up field and closes the gap to the sideline and a more direct angle than Bob took, just before reaching the sideline he turned even more towards the sideline and slowed down, but was still hit by FS Reid Doughty, with almost the exact placement as Bob in relation to the sideline.

So, why was it a foul against TD, but not Doughty? Not, TD blasted Bob and almost sent him into the stands whereas Doughty just knocked Cam a little off balance, but the issue shouldn't be the force of the hit, but where it occurred on the field and on the QB.

Can't call bias about race or QB style, so why the double standard? Home field advantage, horrible officials (yes, I saw the whole game), too subjective a rule?

TL;DR- I wanted to start my own thread.

Yea I agree it should not have been called.Eric Davis commented on NFL AM that if it would have been a receiver or rb that it would not have been called. He also commented that if it would not been a home game it would not have been called which addresses your point regarding Cam.

I dont have a problem with the call on RG3, in fact I think the refs need to protect mobile QBs more. Its fairly obvious guys are coached up to lower the boom on "mobile QBs" when they leave the pocket. If they lower the boom on pocket passers who scramble or come anywhere close to their helmet, fines and penalties ensue. There needs to be a balanace. Vick takes more abuse then any QB in the league, and the refs dont baby him the way they do other QBs.

Vick gets beat up because his offensive line is made of napkins.

I saw at least 3 times last knight where defenders were on him as soon as he got the snap. Several were big hits.

If you are running, then you are a runner, not a QB at that point so no pity and no flags.

Cams personal foul was when he was IN THE POCKET.

Not rocket science here people.
