Going to Dublin on Wed

Every time I travel there I spend my time in a hotel room, then into a conference room and back to the hotel. This time because I am going to be there a while longer I would like to see some of the city and surrounding areas. Does anyone know of any tourist things I can do? I have evenings free and FWIW I am staying in the Conrad in the middle of the City. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Nope Dublin Ireland...lol. Have to do this once a year unfortunately. I never do anything when I am there. The first two days are spent trying to adjust to jet lag and then I usually go home on the third of fourth day. This time I am stuck there for 10 days in a project management capacity...(fun times) and I want to do more than go to the Brazen Head. Hell for once I'd like to say I have a memory that I can take with me, especially since I am on the companies dime :startle:

btw.....I am in Memphis today....told you half the time I talk to you I am traveling...lol

Memphis is the poo......fug you for not having to travel anymore, I am stuck through second week of Dec. I got an idea though, the challenge next year is who can find the cheapest top shelf drink. The criteria is that it has to be top shelf liquor, no beer. Two it has to be less that what is the norm in the market you come from, and three the pour has to be more stout...e.g no pourers To make it fair, you have to take pictures of the drink (no ice included) and you have to take a picture of the reciept. If we get enough traveling drinkers we can pull together some kind of prize..

Wife and I stopped there on our honeymoon. We preferred the Western Coast more than Dublin but I have a couple suggestions.

We stayed at the Shelbourne Hotel right across from St Stephens Greens. Ggo into the hotel bar there and drink a Tyerconnel. They drafted the Irish Constitution there.

We dranks some pints and ate ham n cheese sammies at O'Donoghues. Cool classic pub...not commercialized at all. Stay away from Temple Bar district.

One of my favorite dinners came The Farm http://www.thefarmfood.ie/dinner-menu/

Not sure I saw any tablescaping stores but my wife loved the designer Ted Baker. Buy your wife a purse from there.
