Jairus Byrd FS

Gamble was playing at the same level this year and that was before the pass rush was working.

Not going to lie that he didn't but if you were the GM of this team, would you pay an aging vet that kind of money who since he signed his 6yr contract have missed 23 games? Or would you rather trade/cut him and use that money toward a need of "FS" in a Byrd or Goldshon?

I'd first try to restructure or extend him to a cap friendly number. Unless, we think the Josh's are the answer on the outside.

You won't trade his contract and I imagine the cap hit for cutting him would hurt.

To me it doesn't make sense to dump your best CB in favor of another DB. They need to improve, not just swap out pieces.

No more position changes.

Why not? He looks like he wants to be a part of that starting squad. We need someone to step up at FS..

He has the intangibles..and heart (see 4th and goal last week).

If he just can't do it..fair enough...we didn't select him to be that role. But wouldn't it be awesome to get a quality starter out of another young player like Thomas? Especially at a position that we need to upgrade?

This ain't madden.

See Sherrod Martin as an example.

Lol "this aint madden"

Thomas Davis was moved from Safety to be one of the best linebackers the Carolina Panthers have had in recent history. If I were a coach, I'd explore all my options to make my team better. Yes, that includes PROPER positional changes.

I'd be willing to bet you wouldn't have a problem with it if he was able to make the switch and be an upgrade over Sherrod eh?

Random, but it seems that there used to be smarter people here..? :(

Thomas Davis is a totally different example, and the only one you can come up with.

All I said was no more position changes, especially in the secondary.

Nice attempt.
