Jairus Byrd FS

His contract is up after this year I believe and will be a free agent. He has yet to work out a contract with the Bills and is a straight up BALLER. He's fiery, a sure tackler and a ball hawker. It seems like this is exactly what we are missing on our much improved defense. Now even though we have our own cap problems the Bills do as well. After giving Super Mario that ridiculous contract they might not be able to give JByrd the contract he wants. He is also most likely disgruntled for awful Bills defensive play. I have a feeling the new GM will want to makes some serious moves through F/A and restructuring. Only question is what would you want to give up for this monster if anything at all?

Also I wonder how the Bills feel about Dwan having more sacks than Mario Williams?

Note: Also this is all under the assumption that the Bills let him walk and don't franchise him. But getting Byrd frees us up in the draft to address DT, WR, CB, OL or TE which I feel are our biggest needs.

- He also played college ball at Oregen for Chip Kelly and with Jstew. He also works out with Beason in the offseason.

It's not the roster spot I'm talking about. A FA like Byrd will cost $4-6 mill a year. Someone making actual money will have to be cut since we are over the 2013 cap. Gamble? DWill?

I think we will trade Gamble in the off season. Too soft. Lost the fire. This is a youth movement.

Naturally whoever JR hires to be GM will be asked "what can you do to squeeze some cap room out of this colossal mess?"

That said, being able to sign any top tier FA's will be a long shot, but getting a saftey like Byrd would go a long way to fixing the deep pass protection issue the Panthers have.

    • he has barely suited up for 50% of our games.  It matters pending how much of our cap and resources go that way.  If he cost in the ballpark of a Surtain? No thank you.  Let someone else  And as far we know what happens when we let talent walk away or trade them…..that’s a mixed bag.   should we of paid Norman, Bradberry at CB? They probably had earned the right to be called better than Horn at that moment of the decision.  Do we regret that? Do we regret Star walking? Can take it back to Spoon.  Flip side is probably Peppers.
    • We need to get better in the redzone. And yes that is an issue that involves all the moving parts. Oline receivers QB and playcalling. But Bryce himself has to lead the charge on that or surely we could face another blowout in one of these upcoming games. Every team no matter how good they are is going to face an opponent that imposes their will on them and requires the same in response. Those are the games where we have got to capitalize on drives. Honestly I get the sense that the Chiefs on some level overlooked us.  So while I am pleased we were as competitive as we were it certainly remains to be seen if this was the beginning for something new or just an anomaly. I think that's a perfectly fair take at this juncture.
    • He is a diva, even with Baltimore winning, he will cry and pout and ask to be traded. He cares about his numbers and stats for his next contract. Ironically, his best chance to showcase his ability was with us, now he is just an afterthought.
