Biggest / Most important game this season?

I'm gonna have to go with the Patriots game. As long as we have a decent record heading into that game most of the previous games are meaningless. The key here is that from the New England game onward we need to build as much momentum as possible heading into the playoffs and if we can win against a very good opponent late in the season it'll be a huge emotional boost.

I really want to show the world we mean business on monday night against the cowboys. But knowing how we always have the most important game late in the season, it will probably be week 17 against the saints to seal up a playoff spot.

For the first half of the season, the Cowboys in Prime Time, in their house. If we embarrass them, we'll show the nation who really is a force in the NFC. If we when, we'll show the Panthers are a serious team.

As for the rest of the season, it really depends on the situation and our record.

I also agree that we need to come out the gate and beat the Iggles.

1st 3 games....

the patriot game isnt a NFC game, if we lose it will suck, but not kill us.

We have to start fast and finish strong though....

It's not so much about an NFC or AFC game as to why some games are important, the NE game is right when I'd say every team needs to start building momentum for a playoff push. When you add onto that the fact that it's more than likely going to be our toughest test all year we'll need to prove we can win those sort of games.

at Atlanta in week 2. Huge Division game after a tough eagle game.

The first 4 games of the season will define this team, imo.

i can agree with this. it is possible to start off rough and build back up through the season. we could just win enough to get ahead of the division (who has it just as rough as we do). i would rather come out of the gate swinging and slaying, though. the first 4 games sets the tone.

i'm not crazy about that early bye week but honestly i would rather get that out of the way early. we generally don't do well coming out of it. hopefully jake's arm will be in better shape and doesn't get too stiff if he is told to rest it for that week. still, the bye is usually a momentum killer as far as the panthers are concerned. if they are going to lose momentum and have to build back up that would be a good time to do it. redskins, bucs, and bills are all soft enough to build back on.

it's hard to narrow it down to just one game, though.

i would say the 5 biggest games of the season are going to be:

eagles - big factor in setting the tone. people see the panthers as a sure loss but our tone must be set and our home must be reclaimed.

cowboys - big stage against a team that is considered to be the most hated among panther fans. we always seem to get the short end of the stick with them. we have been embarrassed enough by them, time to repay the favor in front of everyone.

giants - they don't seem to realize how close we came to beating them. we need to do what we should have done last time. we should have won.

cards - it won't be the same but still going back into their house and dominating them would sure make me feel better. we are 6-2 against them we need to remind them who their daddy is.

pats - i want to beat them badly. just to show that we can. mostly just about garnering respect. i would like to win against them but more importantly i would just like to be able to take it down to the wire without giving up. this will be the toughest game.
