No gerald wallace was a much better shooter than mgk is right now. And thats part of the problem. Hes just a hustle/ effort player adding to a team that already had a 2 defensive minded starters at the time(hendo and biz). As attractive as he may have been there is no way in the hell mj should have made that pick, when clearly this team needed a scoring theat and a superstar type player. The team was clearly scoring on the lower end of the nba ppg last season and people like u were like, hey lets draft a defensive guy.

People like u need take off the homer goggles before charlotte no longer has a franchise.

Yeah we need more scoring guys durr. We're like 8th in the league in offensive efficiency averaging 100ppg.

MKG is 8th in rookie scoring and trendingt up

Yea, okay.

Wallace was a really good player for us, but it took him until his 4th season to start producing anything.

maybe if youre just a simpleton that only look at points per game...he just makes the team better. Only player to have a positive +/- in all 3 games

his per 36 numbers are nuts 9.5 rebounds 2.4 steals 2.8 blocks.

FYI many years ago...one of our own Gerald Wallaces greatest career accomplishments was that he averaged 2blks and 2stls per game and he was the only noncenter to ever do it (and iirc the only 2 who had were Olajuwon and Robinson). MKG is almost doing that now in 25minutes per game as a damn barely 19 year old rookie. Extrapolated to starter minutes, let alone the 40+ those guys played, MKG gets that easily.

MKG is pretty much as good as prime Gerald Wallace right now. As the weeks go by and Dunlap increases him to 30+ minutes youll see

Yea I guarantees hes not watching the games and is only looking at stats, or else hed know how good MKG is.

Rookie vs Rookie MKG is better than Wallace. I love crash but come on the guy really wasn't even worth talking about until around 2005-2006. Unless you care about dunk contests. Also Wallace was a terrible shooter. He even had to have his shot worked on just like MKG is going to have to do.

We are comparing the 2nd pick to the 25th but you seem to want to compare a rookie to an 11 year vet. Unfortunately, your argument fails because MKG is the better rookie. He was the 2nd pick but sometimes you don't draft a player to immediately come in a score 20ppg. Especially in a draft like last years. You also can't help that we got hosed by the lottery. MKG is a solid building block for our rebuilding team. Still need probably 2 more drafts to get to where we need to be.

The past 2 drafts are the best we have had in team history. That should make every fan happy. I know that is not saying much but had we kept drafting like we were, You sir would be right and this team would be on its way out the door.

Here's to the future.

11-10-12 vs Mavs

MKG: 25 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blks, 1 stl

He played great tonight, best part about it is that all of his points come in the flow of the game. The kid can finish around the rim and my favorite play of his was the pull up he shot in the 2nd quarter. He pushed the fast break and had the confidence to stop and shoot in the flow of the play... Great game by MKG.

The scary thing about MKG is that he has yet to even tap into his potential. MKG has no offensive game to speak of tbh. He has basically zero plays ran for him, but he can still score efficiently at times. We all know about his defense, and his hustle, but his offense was terrific last night. He has GREAT instincts for a rookie and always know where to be. I can't wait until he develops more on the offensive side of the ball so that we can start running plays for him.
