Alabama OG Chance Warmack

Like him, but actually was more impressed with D J Fluker but don't think he's eligible yet.

Would be very happy with Warmack. No idea if we can realistically get him.

We would have to move Fluker to guard...struggles with speed really bad. Rather take warmack who is a true guard.....when I was watching Fletcher cox videos last year I was more impressed with warmack than him.

There was a lot of talk about the Panthers taking a DT in the last draft, so I spent some time looking at the top DT prospects. I kept noticing Alabama OG Chance Warmack, and he was having his way with the top DTs, and pretty much anyone on the field as far as run blocking was concerned. He's also pretty good in pass protection. At the time I thought he was one of the best run blocking OGs I'd seen in a long time, and I raved about him on here. So now I see that he's projected as a mid first rounder on some early mock drafts. I'd love to somehow draft this guy, but it looks like it would be too much of a reach.

Yea and he comes from a real college. The guy is a beast

I am against taking interior lineman in the 1st round. It's the easiest position to 'hit' on.. in later rounds too.

He's a great player, but much higher needs in the 1st round. 2nd round I'd be ok with but this guy won't be there.

Warmack is an elite run blocking OG, but of course there are other options in later rounds who would be an upgrade over what we have now. It depends on how much of a premium Rivera and company are going to place on run blocking given all the other holes we have on both sides of the ball. I'd be ok with drafting an OG high in the first simply because Cam is an inconsistant passer. He's hot and cold, so we need a dominant rushing attack to help keep the offensive production where it needs to be imo. Can we do it with a lesser OG selected in a later round? I'm glad I don't have to answer that question.

Guys like Larry Allen are definitely worth first round picks.

(for the record, Allen went in the second, but anyone would tell you he was worth a first)

Larry Allen was, imo the best OG to ever play the game. In hindsight, yes he is worth the 1st, but I would not draft one in the 1st for reasons mentioned above. I just feel like they are easier to find in later rounds than any other position.

It's a valid opinion. I can respect that.

Obviously, my feelings about O-Line are well known
