Alabama OG Chance Warmack

There was a lot of talk about the Panthers taking a DT in the last draft, so I spent some time looking at the top DT prospects. I kept noticing Alabama OG Chance Warmack, and he was having his way with the top DTs, and pretty much anyone on the field as far as run blocking was concerned. He's also pretty good in pass protection. At the time I thought he was one of the best run blocking OGs I'd seen in a long time, and I raved about him on here. So now I see that he's projected as a mid first rounder on some early mock drafts. I'd love to somehow draft this guy, but it looks like it would be too much of a reach.

Wouldn't totally be opposed to this. Maybe if we found a way to trade back and pick up another pick, it would be ideal. We could use some help on the OL.

I haven't really payed close attention to or keyed in on Warmack when I have seen Bama(or any OL for that matter) but I trust that he's doing well from everything that I have read. Plus, McCarron is having a solid year and when you see Yeldon and Lacy having so much success running, you know it's partly due to the OL.

Have you seen a lot of him? Go to 0:52 - 0:58 on this video and let me know if that happens a lot.

No, that doesn't happen often. And Jones will most likely be an OG at the next level.

Jack Crawford is a solid DE too FWIW.

Warmack will be gone top 7-8.

He's being called "the next great offensive lineman."

Josh Norris, an incredibly strict talent evaluator for Rotoworld literally said something along the lines of, I stay away from the term sure thing but Chance Warmack looks like a sure thing.

i dont think he will. Theres a lot of really good OT and I can probably only see one of them being in the Top10 and the first o-linman to go. Warmack is pretty damn good but he'll go after the 15.

    • I don't care about offensive production for a team that literally only threw to him and the running back. I care about what I see on film:   Dude cannot separate on his own against talented LBs/S and had to be schemed open; his route running is below average; while pretty athletic, he doesn't have elite athleticism or speed; his blocking form has quite a few red flags (dude should be a dominant run blocker for his size). He was talented enough to get open in college against a slower LB/S; that won't be the case in the NFL. Not to mention, the dude pretty much was nonexistent until this year for Penn St. If I am drafting a TE in the top 10, choosing a 5th year senior that didn't do anything until his last season should be pretty alarming. Not saying he is going to be a bad player - I think he will be a solid short/intermediate possession TE in the NFL. I just don't understand the logic of taking him top 10
    • No one is arguing where we were on the season.  After the benching Bryce was one of the top deep ball passers in the league.  It's a skillset he has just shown he is capable of doing.  I believe he led the league in week 12 and was one of the top ones for that final quarter.  Dance around the topic and argue the stats all you want, I'm just going by what I saw on TV and read about.   https://x.com/PattonAnalytics/status/1877044086709854343 https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/news/bryce-young-best-against-pressure-throwing-deep Hey it surprised me as well, but I'm not going to hide my head in the sand and try to ignore what is clearly right in front of me.  People have a hard time admitting their original thought may have been wrong.  That's just the world we live in.  We will see if Young can keep it up next year or not, but signs are point to DC running his offense regardless of who is QB.
    • You are right, but as of late there has been more rookie TEs making immediate impact on teams. McBride, Laporta, Kincaid and obv Bowers.  My true opinion is the team has so many holes they can go multiple directions including Safety. So it just comes down to out of all the talent in the draft who will make the immediate impact. Wr? TE? LB?
