Matthias' Fantastical Mock

True, but I also think that we could be a 5-2 team or even 6-1 if Cam played under a Pro-Style offense. Cam is not to be blame for any reason to why we're 1-6. Rivera and Chud plays a huge role to why Cam is having a Sophomore slump and why our record is what it is. Both of them for whatever reason seems to think that Cam is a running QB. Anyone who has any knowledge and have seen Cam play 23 games now can easily say that Cam is much more of a "pocket quarterback" than a running QB. If Cam was playing under Reid (Eagles) or Carroll (Seahawks) this year, they'd probably be an undefeated team.

You're right about that. Yet there is the view out there that Cam is a running QB. Even Cam enjoys his ability to run. How dedicated is he to fully mastering his throwing ability? To become known as a pocket passer that can run? I guess right now having a treasure trove of picks is more alluring than waiting to see if Cam will fully develop. ^_^ I'll wait and see how Cam plays for the rest of this season. I know he will put up numbers, but I want to see is that number in rushing or passing.

I hate to speak the truth bc Im going to sound like Im sterotyping but the reason why Cam is view as a running QB is bc of his color, Cam is "BLACK". Everybody, every scouts, every experts, every media person looks at an African American QB and always assumed that they're a scrambling QB, which 99% of them are capable runners. Dante Culpepper, McNair and McNabb are three established proven "Black" QB in this league that are really "pocket passers", but how are all three of them rememberd? Everyone remembers them for the time they scrambled and made the exciting plays rather than the Tds they threw every year or the 3k/4k yards they put up each and every year. Right? "Black" QBs are viewed as runners and "white" QBs are viewed as "passers". Steve Young was just as good of a runner as a Culpepper, McNabb, RGIII, and Cam but bc hes "WHITE", everyone remembered him for throwing the 5tds to Jerry Rice in SuperBowl XXIX than when he chose to chuck the ball in and run it.

Cam will only improve his throwing abilities and mechanics with the right coaching staffs and I dont believe that we have it at the moment. They're too busy creating trick plays for him. Cam has not thrown a slant pass or a fade to a 6'3" Brandon Lafail in the endzone, whY??? Can someone tell me why? Its bc the coaching staffs doesnt care of developing Cam into a NFL passer. Im sick of it every weekend to see that they have not develop Cam into throwing these "slants" and "fades" route in the endzone. Delhomme used to kill these endzone fades to a 5'8" Smitty every weekend and you have a 6'3" Lafell and you rather pound the ball with Cam on the 1 yard line setting him up for injuries. You cant tell me that as a QB who in his rookie year just last year who threw for 4K yards isnt a "pocket passer".

If the FO were to do something as epically stupid as trading away a franchise QB after two years (one of which being the greatest rookie season for a QB ever) for anything short of 5 back to back entire drafts, I would quit being a Panthers fan. Not because of loyalty to Cam or any player, but because that would be the straw that broke the camel's back for my faith in their decision making. Cam has proven he can play at this level. No QB we could draft (least of all Landry Jones) is at that point.

I just hope Cam sees himself as a pocket passer, and he wants to improve his game. If he still rely on his running ability in this league, he will never fulfill his true potential. In the end, pocket passers always succeed athletic QBs in this league. Again, Cam falls in the class of Elway/Young/Rodgers. Yet again if he doesn't master playing in the pocket and being known for his dissecting intellect, he will just be another running QB.

After trading Cam........... that was a pretty underwhelming draft/FA. I don't see that team winning too many games, and it will be a team heavily based on defense with tons of young players.

So you see us in the playoffs next year with Cam? (Just asking)

Cam has shown that he's a damn solid passer in this league. The only thing holding him back thus year is the damn coaches. Give him some real professional coaches who knows what they're doing and Cam will be a Top5 one day.

And to answer your question for "Ken", yes I do see us making the Playoffs next year if the GM can solve the needs for this team: DT, FS, WR, CB.

As long as we get competent coaching and proper personnel moves, YES.

That team you assembled doesn't look playoff bound, especially in our division with 2 great QBs with great weapons and a good->very good QB who is getting better as well as his team.

Basically I'm saying you need a franchise QB, especially in our division and Cam has shown clear signs that he is (going to be) one. Trading him and having lol Landry Jones, D.A and Jimmy is a terrible plan.
